Allright People...in 2 days i will be leaving Amsterdam for a while - might be 3 months - might be 3 years. I will come back to my hometown inbetween offcourse. Reason is that i worked quite good in NY last time i was there and i'm gonna give it a shot.
I've never been gone anywhere longer than 6 weeks , so even for me this is a big step. I'm basicly moving to 8 hours flying away. I'm sad because i will be leaving all my very dear friends behind , and my family , my cats , my city , my pubs and bars and clubs and parties , my bed and my bedroom , and London in 40 minutes flying.
But i'm also excited cause this is who i am , a traveler , it's not in my DNA to sit home longer than 3 weeks , and it's a new oppertunity for me , to make money so i can hopefully , after a few years , buy a cute little house in....well , i think London.
I am nervous because i don't know ANYBODY in NY and i'm gonna start a whole new life. I will start looking for an appartement as soon as i get there and as soon as i have one , and if i am allowed to , everybody is welcome !! My english friends , Tim , Whirly and Stash , everybody is welcome to spread some chemicalism in New York !!!
Well , i won't leave yet , but i'd just like to ask you guys who know NY a bit , where's the best place to go out etc. ?! Any tips are welcome !! This time i'm gonna live NY to the fullest, Last time i wasn't very happy cause of many reasons , but this time i'm gonna fucking rock NYC.
So , i will probably still be online often , but i still feel like telling ya'll how much the board means to me !!!And i mean in particular , you guys that i met ( And didn't , Whirly !! (L)) And , for those who are intrested , i will keep you guys updated with my NY stories here.
Love Is All !!

Jeanie, I wish I could give you tips but I haven't been to NY in over a decade.
I'd be up for visiting you if the time and funds allow - I dig New York, it's a great metropolis that's pulsing 24/7 and when you step outside, it's like you're a part of something massive.
Anyway Jeanie I know it's a huge move for you and something like this is really scary but I think you'll be just fine in the big apple.

New York, from what my girlfriend says, is really overwhelming at first. It's huge and there's people everywhere. It's good since there's always something to do, in case you don't get over the jet-lag and find yourself sleepless at 2 in the morning. Oh, also she said when she first when there some crazy guy had "whipped it out" right in the milddle of grand central station, that and she saw people smoking crack on the subway, so don't be too surprized.
If you visit California you should stop by San Francisco. SF is a big city in the middle, but lots of it is like a beach town and there's always something to do. I think everyone in their life should visit the bay, it is really one of the best places on earth... No matter how much I resent some parts of it (lots of yuppies and traffic), it still will never grow old to me.
Hope you enjoy NY

She's a restless spirit on the up and up, and she's gonna do great! :)
How lucky us Americans are that we're acquiring a Jeanie!
I'm excited because she'll only be 3 hours ahead of me in New York - more yapping on the phone hopefully, and a smaller phone bill!
Biff, stash and I adore San Francisco. Now that we are in a better position financially, we want to road trip it up there sometime this year, so here's hoping.

Bye bye Jeanie!
Good luck with your career but make sure you play just as hard as you work! And make you post just as much!
Ludlow street in Soho was a cool place for drinks and also where I had running man competition with a nice new yorker! (she won coz she could do it backwards :'( )

Wow you must be very excited! I know exactly how you feel... three years ago my gf and I packed up our lives in NZ and moved to the other side of the world to London. We're still here and, now that we are settled, we've made a new home for ourselves. But that initial move is a massive step, exciting and scary in equal parts!
I wish you the best of luck in your move and starting afresh in NY. And believe me, it will be scary and intimidating for a while but that's all part of the fun! It just wouldn't be worth doing if it wasn't at least a little bit scary! ;-)
Oh yeah, I'm gonna be popping over to NY for a quick holiday in a couple of months... you'll be able to recommend a few good nights out for us by then huh!
Anyway, good luck and above all, have fun! :D

Awwwww :(
I just said goodbye to Ed and Tim , and i feel a bit sad , cause i aint gonna see them for a long time. I said goodbye to Luna yesterday :(
Saying goodbye always sucks eventough i know they'll come and visit me and that i will have a great time in NYC. It's just that , well i travelled far , but even when i was in Japan i never stayed longer than 6 weeks....now i will be gone at least three months , so even for me that's a big step.
Anyways , i'm off to bed ( If i can sleep man ) so thank you guys for all you're support , and i'll speak to ya'll out of NYC !!
Love !!!
