feels like i have been seriously fucked up the ass with a cactus then given a std. pisses me off like. IMO you shouldn't be able to pre book tickets but only be able to buy tickets once in the venue, once in they are validated so they can not be taken outside and resold. offcourse there are problems with this method but it will stop what has just happened and deffinately will happen with glastonbury.
Even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day

I think presales cause problems too. What, a chance at a chance to get a ticket? It's just asking for trouble. And it doesn't stop anything. I guess presales have their advantages, but just have all the tickets go on sale on one day. It's become way too complicated.
The "old" way was a pain in the ass, but back in the day we had one way to get tickets and that was to camp out in line in front of a ticketmaster. Or have your older brother camp out in line. ;) Then wristbands started being distributed, to level out the playing field. U2 once tried really hard to prevent scalping - they had a 2 ticket purchase limit per customer. You were not given your ticket on the day of purchase, but were given a special slip with a reservation number on it. The day before the show you went back to the ticket outlet and got your ticket. Back then, it didn't stop the scalpers but at least everyone was in the same boat.

When we were queueing outside the Apollo last night there were some blokes wanting to buy spare tickets, they looked as though they knew what they were doing so were probably buying them off people cheap then selling them on for a higher price.
There was also a pissed up old bloke who was trying to get a light off a smoker in front of us, he started telling us about his wife who died two years ago...thankfully the queue started moving and we went in.
