The weahter here in Oz is fucking weird.

yesterday it was 34C and fucking humid. Today it's clear blue sky but cold wind. Every day it's really different weather. But i'm going to Tasmania now where it's really cold !! And in 2 weeks i'll be back in Amsterdam where it's reainy and windy and i know i'm gonna look back at lying at the beach here in Bondi thinking " I wish i was still there !!! "

Skip the soup for a change and have a nice hot buttered rum. That'll clear the nasal passages right up. Hope you feel better soon!

It's getting gloomier. For me, it's the most interesting part of the year.

Hi clare!

I prefer the fall and winter months myself. Sunshine is nice but summer has a way of bringing on the blues.

OK, that's pretty chilly.

Well then I guess it's a good idea you didn't try to lick the handle bars or else you'd be in a world full of hurt now, wouldn't ya? ;)

Hi! I sometimes can't figure out what it is about winter that makes it so lovable. May be it's just nostalgia, or the late mornings. May be food's tastier in winter.

I like the coziness of winter, with it being cold outside and you duck into a restaurant or store or home and it's so toasty inside. I like going out with my warm clothes on and having the air feel brisk and clean...

Overall I won't put my nose up at nice warm weather, but I've always preferred the cooler months.

Coziness. :( That's the perfect word. I like to suck on a book with a nice cup of coffee inside a cozy quilt with a lamp shining dimly but efficiently in some corner of the room. My my. The feeling is amazing. Then comes the roasted stuff, then the soup, and my college in the end. My college wrapped up in fog is bullshit. I swear around without looking for professors.

It snowed here in detroit ( a magical place where everyone talks about the audio industry, apologizes for Micheal moore and tolerates beer drinking canadians) and its the virgin snow of the fall! this is just the right time to enjoy the cold, after couple of months its going to get chilling cold which is not fun.

k - this is easy. It's not the traditional hot buttered rum recipe because that involves ice cream, but it'll do in a pinch.

1 cup water

Add 3/4 cup rum

half a stick of butter

Bring it all to a boil. Sip slowly, go to sleep.

Then there's the hot toddy which is equally as good but involves whiskey or brandy. Clears the nostrils right out.

1 cup water

3/4 cup brandy or whiskey

About a tablespoon of honey

plain ol' tea bag

squeeze of lemon

Bring it all up hot but not necessarily a boil. Sip slowly, go to sleep.

Of course you can always just chug a half bottle of Nyquil and hit the hay.

Get better soon!

Hey it would be nice to know what constitutes as a "blood chilling cold" for people here. :-D

For me, it is perhaps anything lower than -25 celsius / -13 fahrenheit.

Yes that's a sane plan, but it's not exactly "blood chilling cold" or is it?
