Thoughts?

Joy Division > New Order

that's my own opinion, and it's not shared by many. To me, Joy Division is Beethoven compared to New Order being Vivaldi.

I like New Order. They remind me of my friend Roxanne. She and her boyfriend were our clubbing mates. When stash and I would stop by to pick them up on our way out clubbin, the boys would chat in the livingroom and us girls would go have our girlie talk and put the finishing touches on our make-up and stuff while listening to New Order.

It was good times.

Isn't it well known that Ed and Tom love New Order and didn't they go to university in Manchester out of their love for New Order and the Manc music scene?

New Order seem to have fallen out of fashion in recent years, but they are a wonderful band - inspirational.

You can find everything in their music.

Of course, Bernard (vocalist) did lead vocal on Surrender's Out of Control. Storming track.

And the Chem Bros produced the Order's track for 24 Party People film - "Here To Stay".

I look forward to more New Order & Chem Bros collaborations in the future.

Hahaha - Whirly - that was right outta Trainspotting! What were you talking about? FOOTBALL! :)

Stash - agree with you - Joy Division were like the dark brooding dad of New Order - New Order went straight to club as soon as they could walk!

I love both bands - they'r very different.

I can never get enough of Temptation - one of my fav songs ever! And Outta Control's one of my fav Chems vocals songs along with The Test and The Golden Path - Outta Control's SEXXXXYYYY!!

I enjoyed New Order at Barcelona last year, just a band thrashing out tunes. Simple but great stuff :).

Saw New Order at Coachella 2005. Bernard was cranky and the mixing was godawful and they didn't play Temptation or True Faith but it was still outstanding despite.

after ian dropped they took a turn from some serious dark shit into very happy happy music.

i love them both. joy division makes me feel pissed and gets the agression out of me. and new order makes me feel all romantic and shit.

Blister in the Sun came out in 1981.

Don't know when the Digital song came out.

well, unless it was on their first album, Movement, we could say New Order ripped off the Femmes. Or it could just be coincidence.

I like the Femmes better any day of the week, so I'm prejudiced.

But I don't know when Digital was released.
