I do love this track but its so obviously a much shortened version of a track that has a lot more. I wonder why it is so short at 3 mins? There are plent of radio friendly tracks out there which are 4 mins or more.

I wish it was a snippet...like about 20 seconds instead of an radio edit! This one is too long. :-P

or 11 minutes ;)

11mn would be way too long. It's not the kind of track that has what it takes to be that long. I say it will be 4mn30

I agree with Sneaks. It's like a song with ADHD; trying to take in all these different elements of the song at once. One second you've got a high-energy drop, next a calm breakdown, then - oh, back to the payoff! More whooshing synths! Aah! It never stops to linger on one particular part.

Just paid to download a copy to my phone from the network music store. Happy out.
Oh and it's over 3 minutes long.

By about 7 seconds!

I'm not that sure anymore if there is a longer version of it, since the video to the song is meant to accompany it which could mean that what we've seen/heard is just it.. But hopefully I'm wrong and that break near the end which now is replaced by the vocal loop "there's nothing else" Is still there. Having both parts in the album version would be marvellous!

They would just presumably edit the video to shorten it too? Also hasn't Ed already said this is just a radio edit? As far as I can remember every single released thus far by the Chems has been shorter than the album version, in some cases like Push the Button quite massively so.

Question:
How can you see what the quality of Swoon is on iTunes before you buy it?
I thought I read somewhere it is 256 Kbps but I don't see that on iTunes. 7digital has 320Kbps for sale.

Let Forever be was the only single which was longer in the video than the radio edit, which was the same length as the album version.

Hey Joslyn, here's the details on iTunes.

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1711

seems they are all now 256kbps and no longer protected with DRM. Nice.

Just bought it off iTunes. The Chems are back. Proper Surrender era genius - beautiful, uplifting and with a fucking great sentiment, all while being ridiculously catchy. Brilliant.

Amazon.com sez USA will Swoon on 05/11/10. So guess we may get ours after all. (I was just about to write an angry rant on the matter since Astralwerks site would make you believe it's 2005 still and iTunes has nothing here)

I thought you being done pretty hard for a moment there, I read it as 5th of November!

'suppose there would be more than some strongly worded letters from members of the board if that was the case!

Also, welcome back Afro88!

It's a US date : they put the day after the month
So, read May 11th instead of November 5th.

No, no, I got that! Just stating there woulda been a harsher letter needed if they did have to wait a 'further' 6 months!

Sorry, I misunderstood you.

Back to topic : at first, I enjoyed more Escape Velocity, but now I prefer Swoon, it really grows on me.

Just so people know what it is and what it sounds like when the page-topper on hypemachine inevitably changes:
Swoon (Don Diablo Remix)
I agree. Nice to see that it wasn't just some indie remixer. It's fun!
