Well if you look at their discography you will see that almost every song is magnificent so they have to sacrifice some tracks otherwise their sets would go on forever.

Before you say you wouldn't care, you would. When I went to see Iron Maiden it was amazing, but the set went on forever and even though I wanted to hear every song they'd ever written; the bloke in front of me was fat and had a sweaty mullet so I wanted to go home.

I disagree, Iggy. ;-) I could totally do a 3 hr. Chems set.

Hey brother_ging,

It seems the Chems tend to mix things up and switch between A Modern Midnight Conversation and Das Spiegal. Or if the set is truncated they just omit those songs all together because of time constraints and whatnot.

The cool thing about the Chems gigs is how they evolve over the course of their tour. Some changes are subtle, some are noticeable especially for those who follow the bootlegs or go to multiple shows. Stuff they play in the first half end up being dropped during the second leg, or new bits and pieces here and there are brought in.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at a 3 hour gig but my body would hate me for at least a week afterward. The last show I went to, I screamed so much my voice was completely shot the next day and got progressively worse for the following couple of days. My voice wasn't right for 2 weeks.

The aches and pains from moving around are a given, but when you're older it requires longer recovery time.

AMMC seems to be a song they do if they play in one area two nights in a row (ie. NY). Trust me, Das is well worth seeing live, as I'm sure AMMC to some extent too, but man... Das is a fuckin beautiful song and there was a strong feeling of love when that song came on in San Francisco. So yeah, my guess is they are well aware that that song receives great crowd response and seeing Tom on a melodica is well with the show.

Ah yes. I started a thread about this a while back. We came to the conclusion that AMMC is only played when another gig is played in the close vacinity.

We got AMMC in Brooklyn though (as you can see in the video above) and it was, indeed, frikkin awesome :D

I think I prefer Das over AMMC live. However, AMMC is probably my favorite overall song off of WATN. Out of all the songs on the album, I still consistently listen to this song and keep it on my iPod. It reminds me of Believe in its lasting hold on my eardrums.

Das was an awesome add for both the Chicago and San Fran show. Love when Tom plays that Electronic Kazzoo thingamabob.

AMMC looks just as awesome.

I would like to post note of my double take at the use of "Iron Maiden" as justification for any Chemical Brothers related explanations. I just don't think that's kosher, man. hehehe...
