Cool bit of news, me and some other coworkers will be looking out for the release. Better put my name in now so I can get a promo! ;)
I can't say I'm thrilled with the Gwen Stefani collaboration. I'll give a listen though, cuz I might as well. But I really can't stand her voice - sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

New album confirmed for February 2005
Nov 12, 2004 - 5:24:26 AM
(C4 Teletext) According to Channel 4's teletext, New Order's new album will be released in February.
The follow up to 2001's Get Ready is mostly produced by Stephen Street, with other song done by John Leckie and Franz Ferdinand cohort Tore Johansson.
It was revealed that one of off New Order's upcoming album will be titled Sugarcane, it's been produced and mixed by Tore Johansson.
Planet Sound understands the band also worked with Kylie and Girls Aloud producer Brian Higgins on some songs, but that these weren't finished in time for the as-yet-untitled album. Meanwhile, Moby has covered Temptation for his new LP.
Fucker!!!

I heard that Gwen record all day at work yesterday. I swear her voice is like a cheese grater on my ears.
It sounds like early Madonna, very 80's revival sounding. There's a lot of bubbly tracks, very poppy stuck-in-your-head sort of things. We sold a ton of Gwen Stefani (she's extrememly big where I live, being the first daughter of the O.C. n'all)

Can someone help me out - I've checked new order's compilation releases on some sites and there is quite a few - retro (4cd box set), best of, rest of (remixes) and substance. Substance seems to be the best one for me since it has temptation (the clips I've heard are so catchy!). However, there also seems to be multiple recordings of things like blue monday ('88, hardfloor etc). Which one has the most 'recent' recording of it (and is the one I'm most likely to have heard) :-? .

my next purchase will be Substance and Violater by Depeche Mode, in an attempt to educate myself. Anyone got a problem with that?
Excellent choice there ipunk. Violater by DM is one of my fav. albums but some of the songs are a little cheesy. and substance totally rocks man!
