Hey there.
So remember on New Years Eve in 2001 when Radio 1 broadcast The Chems DJing at The Heavenly Social?
Yeah. The internet doesn't seem to remember either.
Apart from this place nowhere seems to have any idea that it happened.
But it did. I recorded it on cassette. And listened to it to the point of physical disintegration.
Now I'm trying to piece together all the music from the show.
It's a long shot but does anyone have a full tracklist for the 3 sets?
Scratch Perverts played first (Plus One to be accurate) then FC Kahuna then The Chemical Brothers.
I'm actually looking for the Scratch Perverts set mostly (as the Chems set was very similar to In Glint and I have the absolute best song that FC Kahuna played).
I know they/he played the J Majik version of Spaced Invader by Hatiras. Along with a version of Ante Up (Remix) by MOP.
The track I'm really keen to find though is a magical version of the Aquasky vs. Masterblaster remix of Lord of the Null Lines by Hyper on Experience. The standard AvsMB remix has the same sounds and samples in but is way different.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And anyone who owns a decent recording of it and would like to share can have all of my monies.

Hey, I've got the Chem's set, for what it's worth. It's on a hard drive somewhere, I can track it down later this evening, in exchange for ya monies.
This was the tracklist:
The Beatles - Across The Universe
The Chemical Brothers - Come With Us
The Chemical Brothers - Song To The Siren
The Chemical Brothers - Base 6 (with some kind of accordion in it?)
Major Force ft. DJ Milo - Return Of The Original Artform
Impulsion - Higher
The Chemical Brothers - Hey Riff
Metro - Here For The Love (Metropolitan Acid Mix)
Aphrohead - In The Dark We Live (Dave Clarke's 312 Mix)
Dan Robbins - DBD (Chanting In The Dark)
Katmandu - The Break
The Chemical Brothers - It Began In Afrika
Rowland Louis - Percussion's Rhythm
Masters At Work - Work
Q-Tip - Breath and Stop (Jess Jackson and Franky Deep Remix)
DJ Sneak - Funk Unit
Deskee Kid - Get Hyped (Dope Dub)
Shut Up And Dance - Lamborghini
Funk D'Void - Diabla (Heavenly Mix)
Fatboy Slim - Song For Shelter (The Chemical Brothers Remix)
Lionrock - Packet Of Peace (The Chemical Brothers Remix)
Leftfield - Open Up (The Chemical Brothers Remix)
*unknown, a technoey sort of track
New Order - Bizzare Love Triangle
101 - Rock To The Beat
The Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar
The middle part follows In Glint but it's done live, so it's mixed differently, for example they do Base 6 in full instead of just the intro beat. Also halfway through Base 6 it fades into this inexplicable accordion solo... I don't know if it was some broadcasting mistake or something wrong with the recording.

Wow! Top job sir. Thank you.
Is your recording of the whole thing? BBC only broadcast 40 minutes or so before Sara Coxing all over the place.
Any ideas about the Scratch Perverts stuff as well?

Yeah, it's the full 2hrs! I think Star Guitar cuts off at the end, but we all have the whole length of SG anyway.
You can stream it here. That uploader refers to it as an MTV2 thing - my best guess is that the show was broadcast on both MTV and the BBC, but the MTV2 broadcast wasn't cut to 40 minutes. Or a bad tag, but definitely the same NYE 2001 show.
And here's the actual file for your hard-drive's pleasure: https://www.mediafir...xg296wel3vr4ldz
I can't find anything on the Scratch Pervert's set unfortunately, I think you might've been one of the only ones to record that BBC show. Best I could do was more proof it happened: http://www.residenta...s/dates?yr=2001

The accordion pops up a few times throughout the mix, starting at the very beginning (Across the Universe). I reckon it may have been instead of slapping radio jingles on there, to stop the mix from being bootlegged for money and/or played out by other DJ's. Someone (Brothers) was having a laugh in the process methinks.

Thank you! You're too kind.
I'll have to live with the worn out tape version of the other sets. That and the memories.
That RA link says they were at Fabric... If I remember correctly, it was only Plus One at the social, rather than the whole gang. That may be adding to the confusion.
I might have to try and track someone down at the radio. They'll have it on file somewhere. Hopefully.
Thanks again!

Hi chaps, this isn't the setlist for the BBC mix they did from The Social NYE 2001, after FC Kahuna.
I have it somewhere and the setlist is:
Come With Us
Song To The Siren
Base 6
Return Of The Original Art Form / Higher(Chems Edit)
Musak (Wonderland Avenue Remix)
Doin' It After Dark (D-Ski's Dance) / Don't Stop The Rock (Chems Edit)
Star Guitar
Send us your email and i'll send it across.
