"It starts with what sounds like an alien morse code transmission; Earth bound signals bouncing off the side of orbiting space debris. Snatches of voices found out in the ether cut through the machine fog, drifting across burbling analogue equipment lovingly kept working long after supposed sell-by date. By the time the click and thump of snare and bass drum arrive, the sounds are all-encompassing, swirling around you with dizzying, disorientating effect."

OMG, I'm sure sure sure it's "Live Intro Track" !

And maybe a first look of the first vid ?

I thought the same when I read that. But this intro is so old, I don't know... Wait and see

Old or not, it would be a marvellous opening to a "further" album, 'cause I'd like to hear "further" details from what we could hear from youtube.
Didn't they work 4 years on Hey Boy Hey Girl or something?

We Are The Night also uses a sample from EBW4. Based on the description, I'm epecting sort of a really epic version of Silver Drizzle with that noise from Live Intro Track in it somehow.

I think he was referring to the Intro track in the youtube clip, not the song Escape Velocity. ;)

Yes I think you are.
The voices at the beginning are from the previous track I think (probably "After Sunglasses")

Wouldn't the voice more likely come from "Remember to fall in Love", or some other track that we have yet to hear?

yes! Today I heard the 12-minute version and the voices at the beginning must be of a previous track!

Hmmm, that does seem equally as likely. I will have to listen to After Sunglasses, paying yet more attention to the details.

After 3 pairs of headphones and a couple of ear bleeds, I have concluded the following on the beginning of Escape Velocity...

It sounds like beth!

There are two voices in there that are mixed in:

The first one.....'Lifting me higher'
The second one....'Your love keeps lifting me'

Am I correct?

And yes! It is from 'after sunglasses'! Go to 4:20 and listen...

This could be interesting. If it is indeed Beth, it would have to be one of her own tracks that the Chems sampled, as there are no vocal collaborations. I will get working on this.

According to their latest Q&A, they are not working with Beth. But I'm sure they are still using samples from somewhere.

Hmm I'm not confinced. I thought, and some others stated is, that "after sunglasses" were 2 tracks. So the bit that starts at 3.20 is another track. And that doesn't sound like an album opener for me. Also the vocals at 4.20 are very different from the "opening vocals" of Escape Velocity "the Pete Tong version".

Let's just wait and see/hear. All this speculation is quite fun but I think we're all dead wrong when the album comes out
