put all that congo percussion work on it began in afrika on my list.

also the percussions at the end of freak of the week, tho they remind me of the it began in afrika percussions.

ah, and of course the new genius BIG break on the live set saturate>believe.

alzo, of course, the saturate drums - tho new in the discog, they would be part of my best drums ever list on the chems discog.

that insane groove and beat at the beginning of galaxy bounce. sends me bouncing everytime. n the twisted chemical sound bout a min into the song - what is that instrument?

For some reason when F*ck up Beats comes on during ExitPlanetDust it makes me go nutters. It's an awesome little burst.

That flute (Shenai?) in TPPR gets me everytime, so add that to my list.

The guitar in Out of Control is so unexpected and great sounding also.

Hope Sandoval's voice in Asleep From Today move's me like no other.

The siren from Song To The Siren, especially in the new show.

The explosive bouncy synth in Believe.

Beat? crap, its a tie between IBIA and Setting Sun, and alot of other songs from DYOH xD

It's a clarinet played by Jonathan Donahue and holy shit it'a damn great all the time I listem to the reel.

Surely the end of Freak Of The Week drives me nuts all time and the new Saturate transition is the best thing since the BRB transitions back in 2005.

@Csar: Wow, thats a really cool thing to know about the Reel. And I agree with your "B-b-b-breakdown!" about what Chems stuff drives you nuts :)

How about the almost Starskey and Hutch style bass breakdown towards the end of CWU?!

A sure highlight of that track BUFFETT. I felt in love with that drum roll the first time I was listening to it.

0.o Holly shit! I do believe I just had amazing idea for the live show.

Starting song: Come With Us

Song #2: Saturate

Thinking what I'm thinking? That drum roll comes in and you think "Yeah! Come With Us!" and Bam! Euphoria breaks out as its suddenly Saturate right after it's respective drum roll :D Oh man! That would be ace.

I'm not sure if I'd like that more than the perfect visuals they have now... Hmm, I almost want saturate, and then again later on for a mid-show encore xD

hahahaha BUFFETT, Starsky & Hutch, haha!

OK - so if I'm going to name my favorite funky parts/sounds/drums, I'm going to have to get back to this thread.

For now I'm agreeing with prochem, I absolutely dig the bass in Lost In The K-Hole.

I'm becoming quite fond of the percussion in All Rights Reversed. Just wanted to throw that out there - will need to come back later and throw more songs out there.

Favorite sounds? God, that's tough!! Pick a song with something squelchy, something acidic, something whooshy, and something with spleen shaking bass, or something twinkly and kaleidescopic... I guess it could be the sounds in all their songs that do it for me, which is vague, I know.

To be continued...

Btw, since we've been talking a lot of lyrics - what is the sample on it saying? i've never wanted to really check, cause i love fllllyyy so much. ;)

oh yeah, lost in the k-hole's another guru of the same category of chilled out too funky groove songs. i think it's the king. again, what's the vocal? "no idea" or "your idea" - i like u'r your idea since the other sample sounds like u'r goin nowhere - i don't know what he says after that - but u'r goin nowhere in the k hole - yer idea- sid's where the fun is. ;)

i can't imagine a drummer playing that groove live - all the chics go to the drummer band.

play k-hole backwards if you want to hear the vocal

and what do you mean by that last thing about a drummer playing it live?

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Whatever about Starsky and Hutch Whirly I'd go so far as to say that if CWU had been written by a Japanese guy in the 70s and appeared in some obscure Jap movie from that time then Quentin Tarantino would have used it WELL before now in one of HIS movies!
