the lasers are awesome dude ! I dunno how much they cost but man, they can display any colour, these lasers rocks so much !

The left laser broke down during the concert, a technician went to see what was wrong and then it worked again. That was funny when they had to come and push a button to change the colour of a light near the stage :)

I agree with you : the lasers are great, but there are only two :-( They should have one or two additional lasers.

Yay Ben_j!! I'm so glad you had a good time. You really needed your fix and this is what the doctor ordered. ;)

It's a shame about the sound not being as loud (as it could have been) but still. You got to see the Chems!!

wincent and Matrim, thanks for coming back here and weighing in with your thoughts on the gig!

Pictures ! (well not a lot, but still...)

In my street, right after I LEAVE HOME, there's an ad on a bar !

I'm not there yet... but I can hear the brothers asking "COME WITH US"

The "mothership" as Jeanie calls it, right when I entered the hall.

Actually, this pic is useless

Wait, wait, wait !

Ben_J, if I may say something about the crowd... I disagree with you. From where I was, it was a hell of a gig. Upstairs, people were dancing and bouncing everywhere. And claping all the time. And an outstanding ovation at the end of the gig.

I think that if the crowd was sometimes relaxed it was because of the set. This is, IMO, a new kind of set. Less head banging (just what it takes to entertain everyone) and more melodious.

And you're right guys : the album has been released to close to the date of the gig...

Now that I remember (more or less) the setlist, let's review it :

There's no path to follow -> great intro.. shorter than "Surrender to the void".

Galvanize -> great intro : let's galvanize. Though I totally agree with you : I'd love to hear Come With Us one more time (and It Began in Afrika, btw).

Burst Generator -> somewhat disapointed

Hey Boy, Hey Girl -> you don't change a winning team.

Do it again -> wonderful tune live

It doesn't Matter / Under the Influence -> psychedelic and irresistible, as usual.

Star Guitar -> I love this version, so did the crowd

Saturate -> a wonderful track live with great visuals

Out of Control -> the terribly twisted version

Believe -> no comments needed

We are the night -> I'm looking forward to hearing it again live in november

Golden Path -> I and my wife love this one, espacially when we shout together : Pleeeeeaaaase forgive meee... :)

Chemical Beats -> amazing to see how this tracks has crossed the 'ages' without loosing its punch.

Das Spiegel -> superb work

The Sunshine Underground -> a great alternative for the outro.

Now, let's go back to work and share all my stuff :)

I agree with Matrim's review, I just want to emphasise that Surrender was the best part of the show in my opinion.

And you forget Surface to air : superb !

In the middle of Out of control, there was a break with two songs : one which is well-known and an other that sounds new to me. Any idea ?

I saw strange things in the audience : two young children under 10 years, a boy was in his father's arms. A father who came with his teenage son but put his hands on his ears all the time he was inside the concert hall (note that he spent most of the time outside). I am sad for people who couldn't buy tickets.

I agree with whomever that Galvanize doesn't quite work as a starter to the set.

I actually thought this was the weakest beginning I had heard, and was disappointed at the lack of energy it has from the start. Yes, it builds, but I think they need to start with something else. It just doesn't do what HBHG or Come with Us did.

Ooh, but if they brought back Come with Us... SO MASSIVE! ::chills::

Thanks for the video Ben_j.

It makes me even more regret I was not standing in the 'fosse' instead of sitting in the bench.
