In this case I'm asking myself why aren't you creating music sounding better than The Chemical Brothers Frans, I'm guessing you have more imagination than a three years old child...
Maybe the next album will have more hip-hop feeling and dirty sounds like Exit Planet Dust so if you don't like psychedelism or old synth it's your choice, wait next album or listen to another artists, but stop that sucking game...
I never said anything about "sounding better", and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to, because I don't have the multimillion dollar studio that the Chemical Brothers have, which they know very well, as you can hear in the way that they polish their sound. But in the end, if you polish a piece of wood, it's still a piece of wood, it's not going to turn into gold. I listened to Swoon on the radio today and I was amazed of that reverb that they have on the clap. It sounds sooooo good. I actually told my collegue "that reverb is probably some signature reverb from some really expensive effects processor and they use it so that you can hear that they own it". That's how you sound "better". Anyway, I never said that I only like Exit Planet Dust (see? I spell it out, I hate those bloody acronyms). I like almost all their stuff, some more, some less. I have all their albums (except Surrender and Further) and several 12 inches including one that was sent to me as a gift from Astralwerks. Psychedelism is cool, old synths? I'm crazy about old synths. I even have one in my house. But I don't use that to judge music because the only way to judge music is to actually listen to it. If I listen to some crappy track but it uses the coolest synthesizer ever invented (probably a Fairlight, but I digress) it's still a crappy track. Or a piece of wood. You choose.
