Further SUCKS!

Could you please take a little of your time to write a detailed explanation that would help us understand, thanks to valid arguments and examples, why the greatness of Further didn't succeed in convincing your intransigent mind ?

I just gave the short version of my review. The long version still needs some more work, but it will be a worthwile read. I guess I have to put some effort into it. About as much effort as Tom and Ed put into Further, because I can't imagine that it's going any further than the imagination of a three year old with a brand new casio keyboard.

Break up the Casio, and the drummachine!

Now you are just being a huge FAGGOT!!

In this case I'm asking myself why aren't you creating music sounding better than The Chemical Brothers Frans, I'm guessing you have more imagination than a three years old child...
Maybe the next album will have more hip-hop feeling and dirty sounds like Exit Planet Dust so if you don't like psychedelism or old synth it's your choice, wait next album or listen to another artists, but stop that sucking game...

Before the walls of flames engulf us all - I'd like to interrupt this regularly scheduled programming to remind everyone that we are free to have our opinions about the music, and if we don't agree - then let's just agree to disagree.

Agreed?

OK.

Carry on.

hahaha, i loved the pre-emptive calming of situation, though it did resort to name calling, which is a shame.
still, thankyou whirl girl.

its refreshing.

Ah someone complaining about the chems not making another epd, that's pretty danm old school, like wanting another "please please me" when the beatles put out the white album

It's so old school though, usually people want another dyoh or surrender, epd carbon copy requests are a rarity.

End xenophobia, embrace the new and don't mourne for what's lost in the past!! [/stoned hippy rant]

The only track I like is Horse Power, and it's ruined by the actual horse sample in it.

I didn't quite like the horse sound at first, but then when I heard the story behind the sample (a broken New Order sampler) it made it so much better. Now I can't imagine the track without NEEEEYYHHH

As I already stated, I will. I just don't have the energy now. I usually get energy from listening to Chemical tracks (except most of the stuff on Surrender), but Further doesn't do that for me. Thank you though for expanding my vocabulary with that cool word "intransigent". I just looked it up. :)

I never said anything about "sounding better", and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to, because I don't have the multimillion dollar studio that the Chemical Brothers have, which they know very well, as you can hear in the way that they polish their sound. But in the end, if you polish a piece of wood, it's still a piece of wood, it's not going to turn into gold. I listened to Swoon on the radio today and I was amazed of that reverb that they have on the clap. It sounds sooooo good. I actually told my collegue "that reverb is probably some signature reverb from some really expensive effects processor and they use it so that you can hear that they own it". That's how you sound "better". Anyway, I never said that I only like Exit Planet Dust (see? I spell it out, I hate those bloody acronyms). I like almost all their stuff, some more, some less. I have all their albums (except Surrender and Further) and several 12 inches including one that was sent to me as a gift from Astralwerks. Psychedelism is cool, old synths? I'm crazy about old synths. I even have one in my house. But I don't use that to judge music because the only way to judge music is to actually listen to it. If I listen to some crappy track but it uses the coolest synthesizer ever invented (probably a Fairlight, but I digress) it's still a crappy track. Or a piece of wood. You choose.

Well, that's another thing. "Oh it's cool because it's a reference" or "it's an inside joke" or whatever. That does not make it GOOD. :) Nice to see another Street Fighter fan. Shoryureppa!!!!!!!!!!!

Defined a little more formally, "escape velocity" is the initial speed required to go from an initial point in a gravitational potential field to infinity with a residual velocity of zero, with all speeds and velocities measured with respect to the field
