Laguna Beach season finale.

I just can't get enough of this show. It's like combining the drama and relationships of all my friends and females (albeit a more G-rating) with being on vacation in California.

And I have crushes on all the bitchy girls. Kyndra and Rocky are looking hot tonight, but Tessa looks a little weary.

I think I can feel my testicles shrink as I watch. Thankfully I don't think a single person I know in Winnipeg is aware of the existence of this show or my addiction to it.

I know, I know. I'd sooner stop drinking than stop watching the show, though. And the worst part is that the more I watch, the less ironic and more genuine my appreciation of the show is.

(I kinda like bitchy girls. Something about being able to tame someone with attitude. ;-) I also like sweethearts too, but stay away because I'm probably bad news for them.)

I watch it sometimes because it's the perfect "Ive been to that place! " show X-D

Seriously , i love the place Laguna Beach , but i expected a really big city kind off thing because of this show! I mean it's gorgues but i think it'gets the wrong sort of attention because of this show. Not the wrong sort of attention but....well.....i would never move there if i only knew Laguna Beach from this show - all this bitchy fake blond girls , bah! But it's not like that at all u know. At least what ive seen of it.

Laguna has its bitchy moments... the old old money v. new money thing, plus there are city politics and all. But the bitchy that's prominent on the surface is a combo of things - mainly the locals get very tired of the tourists (the Labor Day holiday coincides with a sort of officially unofficial Tourist-Go-Home-Day) and when the sun is out, the town more than reaches capacity. But some of the things it has managed to retain over the years is its charm and quaintness which is preserved by it's artsy foundation, local color and relatively laid back attitude.. and some of the strictest building codes around. It is sort of funny how the show blows things out of proportion a little bit and creates this illusion that Laguna is a bustling metropolis. What we saw was the heart of the village which is very small and walkable (if you're not burned out from the night before, hahahaha). Most of Laguna is residential and spreads about 7 miles north and south and up into the coastal hills and canyon - hardly tourist attraction though there's some great hiking and mtn. biking opportunities. There's about 28,000 people that live here which is small-town compared to many other surrounding suburban lesser-known California sprawls. A lot nicer to look at as well, as a whole.

hahaha - unfortunately my travel guide would be a only a couple pages long as I haven't travelled all that much. I'm always very happy to play tour guide to out of town guests though.

And you do a fantastic job of it. You and 'stash both. It's nice getting the clean and dirty versions of what's what in the town. X-D

Has anyone seen this show called Ninja Warrior? It's great!

It's a bit like the show Most Extreme Elimination Challenge... on crack.

Most entertaining and hard core!

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace...

We've been watching when we get a chance and we dvr'd a couple of episodes to share with our brother-in-law who was visiting last weekend. It put him straight into a laugh coma.

Anyone else see this and find it as ridiculously amusing as I do?

Nice one Whirly! That series it absolute genius, showing off some great of the great British comedians.

The intro gets me everytime, where Daglas has to jump from an explosion holding a baby XD

You should check out (if you haven't already) The I.T. Crowd, and The Mighty Boosh which contain some of the same actors.

Watched the Scotch Mist episode a few days ago and laughed my ass off. Then last night I watched the episode where the lady patient turns into broccoli and falls in love with Sanchez. Damn - I love that show.

The intro makes me laugh everytime, too.

I'll have to check into the I.T. Crowd and the Might Boosh. Discovering Garth Marenghi was a sort of fluke. The show is being aired on Comedy Central so it was a nice surprise. We get the BBC American channel but the time zones are all messed up - we never can tell what the schedule is going to be like and the programming is a bit limited.

Darkplace isn't THAT well known really. Planet Terror reminded me of The Scotch Mist episode :P that Sanchez has such a great voice

Maybe if it was more popular they'd make some more.

Actually, one comedy I forgot to mention which is just absolute genius is Nathan Barley written by the legend Chris Morris <3 so well written and really worth your time.

seriously on the same page here iggy!

I've got Nathan Barley on DVD as well as the IT crowd seasons 1&2. I'm currently waiting on a mate to give me a decent copy of Darkplace on DVD as my copy is fairly scratched now(DivX dvd).

I love the quotability of the show as well: "I ran as fast as i could the only way i knew how - by placing one foot in front of the other in quick sucession."

if you're going to give Chris Morris stuff a look, you should check out the stuff he did earlier on: The Day Today and the Brass Eye series. I'm sure you'd know these Iggy, and I have a feeling it'll be right up your street Stash, here's a few links to the shows on YouTube...

Quite literally on the same page :P

I didn't want to go down the Brass Eye route yet, just wanted to give them a sample of the other comedy before it got to dark. Brass Eye is one of the best things to come out of this country, it's so cleverly written. Morris is my hero, and in fact the only reason why I watched the I.T. Crowd at first. After that I realised that the I.T. Crowd was a brilliant series regardless of his on screen appearances.

Just watched Man to Man with Dean Learner Episode 1. It's a spin off of Garth Merenghis Darkplace. I watched it on TV years ago and didn't really rate it but watching it again after enjoying Darkplace so much it's hilarious.
