Hi all,
The upgrade hasn't happened yet, there are some political issues to sort out first.
We've tried to stem the flow of spam by a. banning a LOT of IP addresses and b. adding a question/answer to the registration form.
So not bulletproof yet but hopefully you've noticed less spam today.

Yes, I noticed zero spam when I came on board this morning which is awesome!! If it trickles in at small doses and is manageable with reason, I think that is such a massive improvement over what we've been dealing with. So if that's the way it'll be until this place is bulletproof... I am very grateful.

Hey 3evben, if 1. You have the time while you're updating the website, 2. You've got access to the necessary parts of the website, and 3. It's actually possible to do so, could you restore my old posts the way Krisper describes here? You see, the moderator mistook me for a spambot and deleted my old account, as long as you're updating the site I thought this would be a good opportunity. Thanks!

this is really looking great! was off for some days and first thing back here today: no spam at all, on a sunday, which is somewhat rare. great work, good to see some of the suggestions have been realised (like the questions).

Some questions are easy to answer (Hey Boy Hey ho let's go, latest studio album), some are harder (Star Guitar release, country) and some i cannot answer without doing the research WN mentioned (year tom'n'ed are born).

It also shows the amount of spambots we still have here as forum members (and which always may suddenly come up with posts). Last week there were 300+ new members, this week none yet. Probably at some time those spambot members may also be deleted from the forum but perhaps I am asking for too much. It is really cool however to see how clean the forum is right now.
