See i have 59pounds.. and the Vital festival is on in belfast tomorrow(today).. and i want to buy a ticket for chems.. but that means not goin to the Vital Fest.. cause both tickets are 30pounds



Reason why i want to go to Vital is cause a few good bands are playing not to mention all my friends are going so its got ''FUN'' Writen all over it

OMG GUYS..REVIEW TIME!!



I went to Tennant Vital 05.. Today.

It all started.. I had 60pounds.. and i decided to fuck it with the school shoes.. im'a buy me get me those tickets.. bought my vital ticket at like half 3 b4 the gig door opened.. and then my chems one too.. the girl was like.. (a bit of a punk) hey you dont need to buy them now.. they wont go out for another few weeks even months.. I said.. Im a big chems fan.. give me the ticket.. (cause i was talking to my friend of being a bit short of cash after i bought them).. It was worth it..



I went back up to Belfast City Hall where i met my friends and made way for Botanic Gardans (Approx 20mins Walk Away).. My friends were eager to get alchoholic beverages consumed :P so we waited on some of the older generation to enlighten us with some Drink!

After that i hooked up with a very good old friend.. and i was walkin and talkin and we were at the very back of the crowd.. they were actually quite a bit in front.. we were talking about old things and things we done and how we were etc..and how tonight was going to kick ass!



Gates opened at 4.. it was approx 4.15 and we decided to wait a little and we kicked back in this nice part of Botanic Gardans in a bush away from the public while a few guys that i was just beginnin to get to know were doing some drugs and drinking some Buckfast.. i tried a little of it.. but i was determined not to be a victim of any peer pressure or anything.. and which of course.. I was not.. because they were all sound guys.. just trying to have a good time! like myself.. i had a beer just to chillax with the crowd but that was about it!



Then After we headed for the gates.. my friend was drunk.. see.. i know the guys who were on the door at the VIP entrance.. so we thought hey what the fuck.. we will give it a go.. but higgies being too drunk flashed his ticket and said.. eughe.. and the EventSec said u must go in here.. so that idea was fucked..



When we got in.. First thing is first.. we went to the very front.. The weather was great that day.. it was supposed to rain out of the heavans like the previous day but it never.. the atomsphere was really cool.. no scumbags about everyone was gettin on really well.. we headed to the front.. we wer maybe around the 4th or 5th row from the very front.

We had met up with a bunch of friend we had SAID we wer going with ( not sayin we didnt want to be there jus we got lost on the way.. Remember i was talkin to my old friend..:D)



No one was on at this time.. but we had just missed The Black Velvets and some local bands..

Then The Futureheads came onstage.. just to warm us up.. not alot of people wer about but the people who was, were showing that belfast crowds are the best! The Futureheads complimented us and said we were one fo the best crowds they had played with.. we even played some cool games.. chanting and singing along with them.. They are very good performers.. theyre music isnt quite as accelerating though.. but they did have some good tunes to throw out.. (theyre rock btw..) and were i happened to be standing was the maddest in the whole park at that time..

People were making mosh pits.. i found it quite fun! but no one was like.. being a dick about it and complainin.. it was all a good laugh for us belfast folk..:D

I got caught up in it.. and i think thats where i lost most of my energy for the night..

We also met some really sound guys.. we introduced ourselves it was really cool.. and everyone who were there wer sharing the same peaceful feeling.. , Blacks,White, Grungers, Punks, Chavs, Everyone was chilled and peace and gettin on really well.! Which i thought was great.. especially for belfast..



After the Futureheads went off.. The Coral were next up.. but they didnt turn up.. BASTARDS!..:P.. but even better.. Guess who came out to throw the best show of the night.... Faithless.. FAITHLESS.. i was kind of underestimating them because i hadnt heard or seen much of them.. but i must say.. they were unbelievable.. Insomia came on.. and everyone went mad.. it was the only song i knew! and i loved it the crowd was cramped and packed as hel and everyone was dancing.. but then.. Bad Luck stuck.. The Scumbags came.... there was only a few .. In my opinion.. but they could have caused some major carnage.. they were the big guys of the whole crowd u kno the 6ft 7ft guys.. and they wer sooo shitfaced.. it was not even funny.. it cud have killed some1.. really.. they wer swaying about.. and because they wer so big.. they brought peopled down and then they clung to others.. and brought them down.. and My fuckin luck.. guys.. i was in the middle of about 4 of them.. it was sooo freaking me out.. cause my dad told me about this thing that happend in denmark or somewer around there when there was some fest on pearl jam wer playing and 9people wer killed due to the thing im explainin atm.. so i said fuck that.. im gettin outta here.. and it was soo hard to get out cause people wer goin so crazy.. My friend told me i just went white apparently.. it was like shellshock to me honest.. but then after calmin down and buildin my courage! and meetin a few people who also bailed (b4 me) We decided to head back in.. and this time it was better for all.. i was gettin so exhausted.. hardly had ne food,sleep or drink that day.. so i was really exhausted. But faithless ladies and gents.. are really good live.. music wise and performance.. it was an all round good show.. the scumbags had gone and it was bk to its good atomsphere.. not chilled no.. definately not.. Faithless made sure it wasnt :D



I met so many people tonight.. people that i knew.. + new people.. never got any contacts though.. but it was too hard cause i was in the middle of mayhem (Hey mate..whats ur no..WOAOHOK).. it cudnt have possibly happend.. When Faithless went off.. next on stage was Kings of Leon.. which i wasnt as thrilled about but i definately wanted to see these guys!

But i was sooo tired.. my legs wer soo sore.. i had been there since 6 dancing.. and it was like 9.30.. constant goin.. and i had little to drink (water) so i was de-hydrating by the second.. then they came on.. wasnt much of an entry but they still rocked.. they got everyone off the ground..

I stuck around the front for a few songs about 5 or 6 but then i decided to bail out.. i wanted to go to the more chilled out side of the field plus hook up with a few more friends that had got lost thru me bailing the faithless mosh!



So anyways im danderin thru the field and i heard alot of my friends wer supposed to be at the gourment diner but no one was there so i kinda walk across the entrance to the bar.. and come across a class mate.. George doran.. he is a really nice guy soundest of sound.. if u get on the good books with him hes a really sound guy.. he'd help u if u wer stuck.. hes really laid back.. hes a stoner :P.. hes a good guy.. but i mean.. hes a tall fella and he'd give u a good slap if u wer a scumbag..



So im standing talkin to him.. shakin hands.. askin how he was etc.. and he said oh here u see the nose.. i seen he had stiches.. i said what happend.. he said.. I was dancin to faithless up there at the front.. bumped into a guy and he broke my nose..

Speak about scumbags like.. i mean some of u may think.. that he cuda been pushin or w.e but i mean its a concert.. and that was a bit too extreme.. i felt so bad for him.. cause hes a really nice guy.. and like i said he can get creative with his fists.. so he kicked the living shit out of the guy.. and had to go to first aid.. and probably missed most of the faithless like.. i felt so bad for him like..



Then after i met up with some of my friends.. we ate chips and socialised basically.. then me and Higgies decided we;d go up to the front for one last go.. and it turned out to be really good..



Faithless are amazing live..

Sorry i was to tired to experience KOL but theyre pretty good to listen to whilst eating some fries!



Oh yeh.. and erum.. ah yes.. I got my CHEMICAL BROTHERS TICKETS>>!!!!

Hooray you got your Chems ticket, now I don't have to spend all this money on a flight and lodging just to give you a swift kick in the pants.



It sounds like you had a crazy evening. Personally I cannot stand an aggressive crowd. I just hate it so much, mainly because a situation where the crowd is agressive and beligerant is almost always 100% avoidable if people could only keep their cool. I pretty much try to avoid situations like that because I'd get clobbered in about 3 seconds. Though I think what happened at the Rockskilde (sp?) fest with Pearl Jam was a result of a mudslide and not necessarily scumbags.



The worst crowd situation I was in was Pink Floyd (one of the most brilliant shows I've ever seen btw), though what happened there was really beyond anyone's control. It was just a case of too many people squeezed into too small a hallway leading into the bleachers. The venue was built a long time ago, and was designed poorly, plain and simple. It was terrifying, what happened at that show. People weren't agressive, but they started panicking and when people panic, the whole fight or flight instinct takes hold involuntarily. People started climbing over one another trying to get out of this hallway. People passing out, people screaming and that crushing of bodies squeezing the air out of your lungs. Ugh, I hope to never be in that kind of crowd dilemma ever again.

In general I dislike aggressive crowds, but if the circumstances are right and it's a mutually-agreed environment, then they can be fun.



For example, Nine Inch Nails at Coachella needed a raucous crowd, but didn't have it. The Prodigy, on the other hand, had a wicked crowd that made the set even more exhilerating, though I'm surprised nobody got seriously hurt.

No.. My dads gf.. was at the actually festival.. it was due to people from behind pushing apparently.. im not particarly sure.. it was just a few scumbags like in my opinion the people who wer doin wer scumbags.. but everyone else was going mad jumping everyone but to me i find that fine and easy to deal with its jus when i start to loose balance cuz i know what its like to get sqaushed real bad cause it happend me when i was 11 in school



In the hallway.. the school itself has been around since the 60''s so its not exactly new.. but a few people fell and then everyone shouted pile on and jumped on.. i was at the very bottom of the whole pile and my knee was bent so my foot was touching my ass.. and i cudnt breathe.. it was the most horrifing experience in that situation ever.. so whenever someone falls my initial instinct is to get in there and help the asap.. cause it jus freaks me out.. its not when i see that kind of thing it makes me think of what happend to me.. its almost like a miniture trauma.. scarred for life thing.. Apart from that its just not a pretty sight either.. so thats the only thing that ruined it for me tonight.. the people who brought the others down with there big bodies and Alcoholic attitudes..



most people were pushing but that was all good fun for me.. and another thing was too many people were where i was standing too.. so i think that could have been a possibility maybe.. i donno..



but it rocked and i definately say if theres ne festivals in ur town and all ur friends are goin and u dont know jack about whos playing.. its gonna kick ass :D
