evermin, I like WATN...When I first heard it I thought of Out of Control, Freak of the Week, The Sunshine Underground...I really dig the layers, but it didn't blow my mind...Maybe when I hear it live ahah...But, it's definitely growing on me the more I listen...

JacksRevenge, nope...192 is all I got...haha...I'm just waiting for the album to be released to do some damages to my speakers and ears haah....

Aww Jack, don't do it. Don't beg! I know you've found beauty in this album despite the quality. Just make do with what you got til til the right moment - which is July. :P

Judgment day will come in July. Oh yes, this album will be the great equalizer!

This album offers a completely varied experience - it doesn't sound the same when driving around blaring it in the car as it does absorbing yourself and zoning out with a pair of headphones, or sitting out on a giant rock listening through a boombox while staring at a desert sky. The experience isn't lessened no matter how you choose to hear it... but whereas most Chems albums transport you into its (the album's) world, it's almost as if We Are The Night is a completely different album each time that's based on where you are physically when listening to it. At least for me, anyway.

Whirly - all chems albums are like that for me - they'r different worlds at different times, dependin on the mood/ set and setting.

I'm not begging - I'm just curious if any other higher quality rips made it to the net, or is everyone around the world and on this forum's hearing the same quality.

I'm very clear with myself, I love the album. Yes it's a huge departure from some of the very Chems trademarks, it's much more loosely knit, but I like the album. I've just decided that I'm not gonna let this album die on me because of quality - I am clear about myself since I've reaffirmed my doubts - the last few days I've been hearing only cds, and damn, this stuff we have is no way one tenth of what the actual album will have - now I know why Ed was upset personally more than the commercial aspect, onthe album leaking, in mp3 format. It's no way fair for fans who really love them and have so much expectations from them to form final opinions of this album based on this mp3 rip - not after the kind of time they've spent in the studios making this.

I think most people here have been hearing too many mp3s - once u hear the back catalogue off cd - any of the albums, it's crystal clear this rip plain sucks. I can hear so much more happening when I play it on my big system at home - so many lower and higher frequencies outside the mp3 band being blatantly cut out, or subdued, thus diminishing the effects the songs and the production actually will have. Whether they change directions, mature, whatever - one thing I'm sure of - no Chems album can be underproduced - that's their main trick - lush layers of psychedelic sounds and melodies, which don't come through at all much here. Hell I played the vinyl of ebw 8 and then played the saturate we have on this mp3 album - FUCK! It's SAD.

Apologise if I'm creating any confusion, I'm happy for folks who're loving this album, but I suggest hold on for the cd - it's gonna be a different deeper and higher experience. Much more Chemical Brothers.

And someone raised a wonderful point. Of course live this album will be quite an experience. That is the fun with the Chems - they write something on cd and make it sound totally twisted and different live, they play around with fans' minds live - that's why I love em so much.

But that said, it doesn't stop or take away anything from their album experiences. Every album they've put out till date, hold out as masterpieces on their own, without having to have heard them live - they'r genius electronica albums - even if u'r hearing them at home.

I'm pretty much addicted to the album right now. Listening for the third time tonight. I'm not willing to rank it right now, but I very much like it. Moreso, perhaps, with every listen.

Igloo - i dig what you had to say about " I dont like to analyse , its all about loving blabla etc"

Cause that is exactly the way i listen to music.

I dont care how its made or whatever - the feeling that it gives me is whats most important!

I'm stoked to get this on some real live cd media so I can hear it in full quality on some nice subs. Get that Rights Reversed bass sound hittin' ... ooo yeah.

I feel that they're aiming to clubs, mainstream, to make it pleasant for almost everybody.

The chem bros aren't the only ones that have dissapointed me, The Prodigy(my fav group), The Future Sound of London, and others have done it as well.

I just don't feel the energy. If I would have ever been down, I would have never listened to their(WATN) songs.

Their previous albums are balanced, they have songs with a lot of energy like for example The Test and then they have nice songs like Alive Alone that are perfect if you with your gf/bf for example.

I know that the lyrics in that song aren't the best ones to cheer up or to be with the one that you love, but as I'm a native spanish speaker somethimes I just listen the rhythm, how it sounds and I forget what the lyrics are really saying. That might also explain another reason why I don't like WATN.

i broke down last week and got it off a torrent. i have no words. all i can say is that my girlfriend is very upset with me. we were in the middle of having a fun time with a little yay-yo and all she wanted to do was shag, i never turn that down. but i couldnt take my mind off of ALL RIGHTS REVERSED... it blew my fucking mind. the whole album is trully the fruition of these two fine brothers. i have no qualms it is in my opnion. to quote that great song by MADNESS - ONE STEP BEYOND. and skylined have you listened to these live sets on youtube. they are still bringing the chemical flavor. i would not doubt it. i think you just need to listen the live sets. i didnt like the PTB album but the live sets are where it is at. i should say i didnt like it. but it wasnt my favorite. anyway. i think this "NO PATH TO FOLLOW" into is really the chems version of the "SURENDER TO THE VOID" and you know what. i have surrendered to the void so many times that i thought i had lost my way. but you know there is NO PATH TO FOLLOW and when i hear that line i feel that everything is going to be alright. everything is going to be alright.

takesumtime, gotta say I agree. Especially with this:

That's it in a nutshell (for me!!)

I agree with that bit you said regarding the line No Path To Follow. It is very much an intro the Chems can call their own, it's their own way of surrendering to the void as you put it. Can't wait to hear that when I see the Chems do their thang live. I feel the same way about the intro, too - though I get a slightly more ominous feeling, almost a feeling of slight trepidation or anxiety from it on the album because it's bringing you into this realm where anything - good, bad and all inbetween - can happen.

Come July, I want to write a nice lengthy review...
