I was wondering the name of some clubs in New York where I could check out electronic music. I tried searching on the net, but there are so many clubs in NYC. I have no idea where to start. Please help me out, I've never been there and would like to try and catch a show or two by an electronic artist or group.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm over on the West Coast, or I'd be happy to drop a few hints.

I've only seen The Chems dj at the Centro-Fly, which I think was closed a few years back. Haven't checked in a while.

Centro-Fly is no more :(. The place for electronic music is Studio B in Brooklyn. It is right over the bridge, pretty large, and is pretty much straight techno every weekend. Big names DJ there, its close to Manhattan, and has a great vibe.

I found the vibe in Brooklyn (for the Chems show) pretty underwhelming. McCarren Park may have been in a bad location though, I don't know.

Now DC, THERE'S a party city. I hope Prodigy comes back to DC, because it friggin rocked.

Gillenium:

when did you see the prodigy in DC? I saw'm @ 9:30 club in the late 90s ;-)

sorry can't help with the OP. I've only been to NYC once and that was to see the Chems @ Hammerstein. I was underwhelmed by the crowd vibe but not by the artists ;-)))

I saw Prodigy in 2006. It was great. They'll be back.. I have a feeling..

It's strange with a city as large as New York that you can't get a decent audience in NYC or Brooklyn...

The audience in the Pool Park really stunk it up. I thought the crowd at Hammerstein this year was rocking.. Anyway, for a good club (not concert) atmosphere, there are a few good techno clubs in the city still left.

thanks everyone for your responses. I think I'll be checking out Paul Van Dyk and Cut Copy when I'm out there :)
