I skimmed through this because I want to save myself a few surprises for the show on Saturday. Fucking chills, man. :D

Cool, I love those analogue sounds. Simian is truely a band I should get to know more (which I should have pursued ever since their debut came out. Sleep Deprivation and the Believe Dub mix are sublime).

I was honored to attend last night's Simian Mobile Disco show, if only because dear friend and Chemical Brothers Forum Board Member BIFF made the trip up from Santa Cruz to party down at Mezzanine in San Francisco. :D

I cannot quite explain how, after years of listening to and seeing Jaz and James create and perform insane, exacting electronic music, my expectations for the show--which were actually quite high--were absolutely beaten down to a bloody fuckin' pulp, leaving me astounded and amused, coming away with a new-found sense of appreciation for the art of electronic music production and performance.

Thank you, Biff, for making the trip up.

It was an awesome night, and Jaz and James continue to amaze and delight. I think with this newest album and method of creation in their music the duo has brought more life back to electronic music with just one of their tracks off of Whorl than Daft Punk did in an entire album.

God bless those two.

Speaking of another two, I am nonetheless anxiously awaiting the next releases from the Chems. :)

Great recording of SMD performing Whorl here at the 25:00 (or so) mark:

Aw, only 20 minutes long, though.
