They are the Sennheiser HD25 that most DJ in the world use.
Although they are quite small in size, they fit very well over the ears.
One great feature of these is that apart from the incredible sound that they produce, they keep all outside noise out.
I've had mine for about 6 years, and they are keeping very well.

so it is worth spending the higher amount for them, six years sounds good to me
Well it depends what you are going to be using them for. If it's for listening at home to music privately, then Sennheiser makes a lot of other good headphones, that are considerably cheaper. The HD25s are really DJ headphones that happen to be excellent sounding, well built, sturdy all-rounders.
If I was in the market for a pair, I would probably check out the local hi-fi shop and try the Sennheiser headphones with the bigger speaker part, ones that will enclose the ear, as they will be more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.
I have used several other brands and found Sennheiser to be most suitable to my needs and comforts. For me the sound quality was the clincher when buying these.

These are the ones i'm thinking about getting for jogging
I have those, but the older model, they're really nice because when you don't use them you can keep it in one of your pockets. ;)
Do you think they'll stay on comfortably if you went for a hardcore run?

i want them for DJing, i am going to go in to town tomorrow and find a pair some wear i think i will probably buy a Sennheiser pair thought i am not sure on the model yet, though i have a good Sony pair before.
if you want good dj friendly headphones i would not recommend the Sennheiser. they are more suited for home listening than helping you keep a mix together. i learnt to mix on the sennheiser 10 years ago and since then i have had various headphones and found out what makes a good dj headphone (but this is all personal choice). the main reason why i dont like the sennheiser are
the leads - the sennheiser have one lead from each can which join up together about 30cm down the wire. because the cans spin indefinetley around and around the leads get tangled together and the wires can start to throttle you. the are 2 ways round this. unplug one of the cans so you only have one working can (as the chems do with their headphones). or get some tape, and tape the wire from one of the cans over the bridge of the headphone so you effectively have the wire running down one side. most dj designed headphones have one wire coming from one of the cans, and run another wire internally through the bridge of the headphone. also the wires on the sennheiser are very thin and prone to breaking, althought the wire are easy to replace.
the feel of the headphones - a good dj head phone should be a full cup headphone. it should be able to sit over the ear, the sennheiser sits on the ear. a full cup ear phone should sit on the ear wherever up position it. with the ear you monotoring the mix on, you want to have the headphone half on / half off your ear so you can hear what exactly what is going on. on a Sennheiser you really need to hold it in position on your ear or it will twist round a fall off easilly. when mixing you really need to free both hands up (shit i wish i had a third hand sometimes!!). i find on the Sennheiser that one of my hand wastes its time just keeping the headphone in the position i want it.
personally i would recommend the sony MDR V700DJ cos thats what the elite use. they used to have a design floor that the spindle on the cans would snap after a time. but they have improved that problem.
you could use what i use, ministry of sound DJ1001. i got a couple of pairs of these and been very happy with them. they reatiled at 120 a few years back but someone on ebay knocks them out sub 50!! http://cgi.ebay.co.u...7318456157&rd=1
pioneer HD1000 are meant to be very good but the wire are prone to breaking easy.
the stanton DJ PRO 3000 headphones look very good with high and low pass filters so you can tune the sound to you liking and maybe help not kill your ear drums!!

I can't belive you lot are having a debate about what headphones tom and ed use!...
anyway my tuppance worth...
sneakers right a lot of peope do use the Sony MDR-V700DJ - which are great, they sound good, they block out noise and I found them to be nice and comfortable....BUT DO NOT BUY THEM...they will break - everybody I know thats had a pair has had the same problem, they've all broken in exactly the same spot...
It's a major design fault on the rotating joint - it's just shoddy design on sony's part and they know full well it's there.....if you can be arsed there's a whole thread about this on www.undergroundhouse.net
sorry I'm just bitter
I've started using the pioneer HDJ1000 which are exactly the same but seem a bit more sturdy (touch wood)....
never got on with the Sennheiser's that tom and ed are using but it's all a matter of taste isn't it....
anyway - as you were
