hey boy hey girl
morning lemon
get yourself high
galvanize
leave home
song to the siren
come inside
under the influence
it doesnt matter
out of control
star guitar
surface to air
EBW 6
Believe
acid children
golden path
chemical beats
hold tight london
private psychedelic reel
i nearly shit myself when morning lemon kicked in, the whole tune wasnt played, but we got a good couple of minutes before it was chopped up to fit with get yourself high. gutted to see music response has been removed from the set, but then again im up for changing set list thoughout the tour (not like the surrender tour which was pretty much the same for its 14 month durration i seem to remember). also the leave home and song to the siren section has been revamped. leave home lasting much longer. but supprise of the night had to be the reinclusion of chemical beat!!!! fuckin awesome to hear that played live again!!!! i love the exit planet dust era.
i wondered if they may have played the boxer, seeing as its being released on 11th july. i'm sure i have read on hear that it has been played as an encore, don't know how true that is but they didn't play it which was a shame. but who is complaining??? a fine tuesday night out!!
after the gig a plucked a new t-shirt, 'it matters that it doesn't matter'. how cool is that a t-shirt from a track thats 8 years old!!! its all good. and just as i left the brighton centre i bumped into acid children and said hello and had a brief chat about the gig.

You missed out The Big Jump, after Get Yourself High but before Galvanize. Block Rockin' Beats was on .... after Leave Home, I think? It might have been after Galvanize. I loved that remixed bassline at the start, I just lost it at that!! 8) Somewhere (but I can't remember where :-// ) the beats to Elektrobank were used, and when they started to slow, I did wonder if we weren't gonna be blown away by the post-apocalyptic art of noise that is the Pirelli ad. I was impressed with The Golden Path too, I normally don't like that song but live it just came alive, much more dirty that the studio version. And I was well chuffed when Chemical Beats started, and surprised at how many people recognised it (or seemed too). But I guess it was on Singles, so it should be pretty well known now. I did feel that Hold Tight London lost it's magic live, the acid line in it was wicked but the emotive content was lacking. Not the chems fault though, as I thought the PA was below average. The bass was tremendous, but all the mids and treble were hidden behind it. At times, it was hard to hear anything but bass. Maybe it was just where I was standing. Still, there is nothing like the atmosphere of a Chems gig, and I was off on that the whole night.
How good were the visuals for EBW7?? Not just the clown, but that tunnel thing was amazing! And It Doesn't Matter, when the robots went evil - sure glad I wasn't on drugs then! Believe's visuals were pretty good, with the moving through the graveyard at the end, that was pretty mad. I was a little disappointed that Star Guitar didn't use the main screen for the visuals as well as the little ones, but the little ones were more than enough to keep me occupied :D

I'd never heard It Doesn't Matter or Chemical Beats live before, and I was loving every second of them. I wished they'd started with Come With Us, it's such a good opener, the way it builds. The start of Hey Boy Hey Girl was cool though, some vague unrecognisable sounds, people were waiting impatiently, then the massive kick ripped through and the screens exploded, and the crowd went absolutely mad!! What a moment! :D

The visuals I remember were lots of circles, but the "new song" started a little before that. Anyone else shed more light on my rapidly fading memory? :'(

I can vouch that it is an awe-inspiring and freaky moment (when high as a kite) when those robots go nuts. One of my favourite moments of the concert, and I'm glad I caught it on camera.

I spent about 90% of the night with the most rediculously inane smile on my face.
But can anyone tell me what happened to the "and special guests" that was mentioned on the tickets? Not that it really mattered, I'm just curious!
