Ah, the Russians. I like the Russians. Some of them wandered over here for a bit til they got their own Chems forum.

Anywa - a little more 2008 drama at the house of whirly.

One of stash's best friends for 19 years passed away last Thursday. And it's starting to sink in, in a strange way. We used to work on music together and I was listening to a whole bunch of foundations we'd worked on today, stuff we made a few years ago. I can't say it made me sad listening to it, but in a way the songs feel untied as they never were finished properly. The funeral is this Wednesday. Bless him he was in so much pain, and his wife is such a saint..

And today stash's sister had a little girl named Lilliana (Lily, for short). I can't wait to meet her! We're going to Seattle for Christmas so I'll get my chance to hold a baby girl.

As they say; for every death, a child is born. Life sure is weird...

The thing is, I just had a really nice vacation a couple of months ago! If I hadn't taken 2 weeks for r&r back in August, I would've had a nervous breakdown. I'm sure of it!

We're only going to be in Seattle a short time - going up on Christmas day and we're coming back on the Saturday. I'm looking forward to it though. It's been over 14 years since I've been to Seattle and I want to see that baby girl!

I'm setting off down to London today ready to fly to South Africa tomorrow. I'm spending a whole month out there with family. I've never been before. I get to see where my Mum's ashes were scattered, where she grew up, meet family I don't even know about etc. On-top of that we're seeing kruger park, Sun-City. We're white water rafting, bunjie jumping and doing a road trip from Johannesburg to Cape Town and back...It's going to be amazing.

So with that I just want to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and all the best in the New Year.

anyone got a cure for the flu?

I have been confined to my bed for the most part since Wednesday night. I didn't know that I coud reach a fever of almost 40˚C (I think that's 104˚F). At least that's gone. But now I have a stomach ache that is killer. why does it have to hurt when I swallow?

Prescription Beats!

When medicine didn't work, I drink a hot earl grey tea or a green tea to get the flu out of my system. Calms me down but takes awhile to work.

Usually I get better in 24 hrs after drinking teas, but it has bailed me out for the majority i've been sick in my years.

Throwing up is the last option! Get well soon!

@Rynostar--have you been throwing up? If your throat is swollen and it hurts to swallow, you might have strep throat. The swollen throat after a fever is a common symptom.

Also, mono is a good candidate for the symptoms you have.

In any case, go see a doctor.

@Whirls: Aw, you okay? :-(

Ryno I hope you went to the doctor's to get whatever it is you have checked out - the swollen throat and high fever sounds like strep to me... Check the back of your throat and if there are small white pockets or lumps, it is likely strep which needs antibiotics.

Pooter I will be OK... Just drama and i despise drama and don't deal well with it. Not to burden the forum with my woes, but yesterday was a major blow. As stash said to me yesterday it really sucks when you find out the light at the end of the tunnel turns out to be a freight train. Bluuuuuugh...

Life's a freakin rollercoaster and the dips, turns and revolutions never end!! Not much else to do but get out of bed each morning and face the day but it just gets so damn frustrating. I'm glad this place is here for me to vent in my woe-is-whirly way. :P It keeps me from cracking into a million little pieces if I can vent a little, hahaha.

Oh, a crown popped off one of my teeth this afternoon and it's all rotten underneath. I swear I feel like I'm falling apart at the seams sometimes. Getting old sucks!! So off to the dentist I go - I find out this Wednesday how much a tooth extraction and bridge will cost. Boooo!!!!

Anyway, when stash was in the hospital on Friday night, the Ed presence could be felt:

"He is real!!"

sorry to hear all the woes you guys are going through right now. something about winter always makes it so when shit hits the fan, the fan appears to be set on 3 (or max power). i've definitely felt that lately with being stuck in a house i cannot stand and being away from the important people in my life unable to get a job in this terrible economy and my shitty Dell computer broke, so i have to borrow other ones to crash this party. but, if i may spout off some obnoxious wisdom, it's that the worst things get, the more appreciative we will be when they become good...

Homer: Kids. From now on there are three ways of doing things: the right way, the wrong way, and the Max Power way.

Bart: Isn't that just the wrong way?

Homer: Yes, but faster.

::sniffle::

WHEN WILL THE RAIN OF SHIT END!>!>!>!???

SOMEBODY TURN OFF THE FAN!!

@Whirls: :-( Nothing but hugs for you, girl.

@Biff: If I get a spare computer, I'll give you one. Unfortunately I only have one right now.

As for me, well, I've got the pros and cons going on, but I really can't complain in comparison to all the woes on this board. Trying to spread the love as much as possible.
