Pretty sure I heard that info somewhere before... :p

I've already been begged by some other people to record the roundhouse gig, but I have to say, why would I?

If you get caught with a recording device you risk getting thrown out and you spend half the concert wondering if it's recording correctly rather than just enjoying yourself!

if you get caught, then that's just you're not smart at all...

Well , thats not entirly true! I dunno where Martin is from , but ive been to gigs in NY where they are SO strict , they really search youre bags and there's security watching EVERYWHERE to check if somebody is recording. I was just making a picture with my phone at a prodigy gig and immidiatly somebody came up to me.

Too true, Jeanie!

The last time I saw the Chems dj, we had to walk through metal detectors, get our bags/purses searched and got the pat-down upon entry.

I'm sure they were probably looking for drugs and weapons more than recording devices, but that's downtown Los Angeles for you.

Security at Coachella was pretty tight, too. Then again, ElectronicBattleWarrior was able to smuggle in an entire studio which was impressive!

I'm from London and whilst it isn't really very hard to get a camera into a gig it's a different story to get something in to record the gig at high quality... plus for the best sound you have to be near the mixing desk so you can get busted fairly easily...

The name still sucks balls.

The record probably is full of shitty trance-breaks like EBW 8.

Was it EBW who made that recording on the FTP?

also, that sucks about the serious checks! if I go to a big concert here it's walk right on in no metal detectors ,no feeling up, no bag-searches. and once you're in nobody gives a rat's ass what you're doing. I once had a conversation with a sound guy about how best to record something and even in setting things up there were no questions! :P

Yeah that's crazy, I've never been patted down before entering a club, but for the big outdoor festivals they do bag checks and only allow sealed bottled water in.

I'm not joking, unfortunately. That was how it was last time seeing the Chems do their dj set, and that was how it was going to a couple of clubs I used to frequent in Los Angeles. Searches used to be done at some of the raves stash and I used to go to - though that was years ago. I was very surprised when seeing Josh Wink with Jeanie Mipps and Darkstar (when they were out visiting) the only thing were we asked for was ID and didn't have to go through security checks.

While EBW snuck in all that recording gear, his plan sadly did not work out in the end. His gear shut off quickly and he said what he did have was badly distorted except for this screaming bit where he and stash were yelling "We love you Tom! We love you Ed... milcocoooooo!!" at the beginning of the show. Other than that it was a wash. I'm not sure who recorded the gig but I think it was Bold Captain who came on here and directed us to some flac files of the Coachella gig.

:( that stinks! and twofold on account of his recordings not working out!!!

ah well , I suppose it just makes room for more creativity in sneaking things in.

though the checks themselves must be unpleasant !
