So I hear the lucky brits already got the new Fatboy Slim?

Just can't wait to get my hands on this disc! Really hope Mr Cook lives up to his genius. Am really skeptical after the Prodigy debacle.

Any fans here heard it yet? How's it? Please post u'r comments/ reviews here!

I've heard quite a few of the songs and I think they're good but maybe not worth buying the album on the day. I like Slash Dot Dash, Don't Let the Man and Jin Go Lo Ba, but I'm 50/50 over the others because they don't seem to have the beats that Norman is used to having in his songs, he has tried more traditional song structures on this album. I will wait until the price goes down, locally I can only get it for 10.99 which I think is too much.

I've heard bout it being a more songs album, n not too much of a club shaker, but i don't think that'd stop me from liking it if the songs are good on their own.

Heard The Joker on launchcast today, n it was pretty ok, not so bad, nothin that blew me away. Sure not dance music that one.

Any other people got their hands on it yet?

I will paste here what I said some weeks ago in the other thread. :)

I'm not a Fatboy fan, his music is only "FUN", nothing more, He never produced really "quality music". But now I listened to his new album a few times and I must say I like it.

Palookaville is a different album if compared to previous Fatboy material; there are many collaborations in it,

and this gives the album a "pop music" style (you COULD or you COULDN'T like). I know many of Fatboy Slim fans could be disappointed of this, but

I'm pretty satisfied and I really like PV.

This is a new Fatboy Slim, much "professional", much "mature";

the sounds, the rhythm, are well balanced and integrate lovely with the vocals.

Here my ratings:

?Don?t Let The Man? > 7.5/10

?Slash Dot Dash? > 7.5/10

?Wonderful Night? (featuring Lateef) > 7.5/10

?Long Way From Home? (featuring Johnny Quality) > 7/10

?Put It Back Together? (featuring Damon Albarn) > 7/10

?Masochistic Baby? - good sounds (in some points it remembers me the Chems) but horrible vocal sample > 6/10

?Push And Shove? (featuring Justin Robertson) > 8/10

?North West Three? > 8.5/10

?The Journey? (featuring Lateef) > 6.5/10

?Jingo? - you will sing "jingo ba" for days after you'll listen to it > 8/10

?Song For Chesh? - no vocal sample for this psichedelic track, but not so special > 6.5/10

?The Joker? (featuring Bootsy Collins) > 9/10

The entire album > 8/10 (I give 9/10 to Surrender and 6.5/10 to AONO)

I own it, and quite like it. It's very tasty.
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Is there any 303 anywhere?

There seemed to be less and less as you go through the FBS albums.

i originally expected that i wouldn't really care for the new album because of all the guest singers. i just like the straight "instrumental" techno songs i guess. but i was pleasently suprised.

track by track:

don't let the man get you down: i like it, it amdea good first impression on me.

slash dot dash: this is the only track i'll skip over if it comes on. it just really irritates me.

wonderful night: this song is kinda goofy, but it's pretty allright.

long way from home: i really like this one. one of the few "guest vocal ones i really like.

put it back together: cool guitar sample. it's ok, but i don't listen to it often. i don't like the guy's voice much.

masochistic baby: i don't really know what to think of this song. i like some parts, but other parts seem really awkward, and the whole song is put together in a way that just seems...weird.

push and shove: this one just doesn't really do anything for me.

north west three: ahh..here we go. barely edging out song for chesh as my favorite song on the album. i love it.

the journey: ehh...i don't want to put down an artists' work, but this song is just kinda retarded. no no, that sounds mean. ok this song just doesn't really do anything for me.

jin go lo ba: ok yeah, this is goofy in a good way. i guess it's pretty allright too.

song for chesh: another really cool song. nicley done, kudos!

the joker: i thought this was going to suck, but it's much much better than i expected. most likely because it's bootsy collins, if it was some nameless ass clown new age rapper it would've sucked, but because bootsy did it, it's ok.

see ya

yeah theres some 303s, i forgot what song it is though...ill have to look to listen to it, but i know its on the last half of the album. and btw, its a kick ass song with hard 303s and pounding bass lines (if you listen to it, make sure its somewhere with a sweet system 8-)

i cant believe some of you dont like this new album. its waaaaaay better than HWBTGATS, i mean way better. everytrack on this one rocks, especially Put It Back Together, Dont Let The Man, and Wonderful Night

I've been broke. Very broke, and my promo request has not come to fruition.

But Friday is pay day, and I'll drop some dough for Palookaville if need be. I own all Norman's others, and I hate to break continuity when I've come this far.

I'll give my opinions at a later date.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
