it's obvious the Chems are holding out on announcing any UK dates, apart from Rockness
Do you think they're planning some big event? or are they shunning the UK?
Hyde park maybe? (i personally hate Hyde Park gigs btw) Glastonbury headline slot? or something else completely?
i need to see the new tour goddamit!

Welcome back sister - of course I remember you!
I think you will be very pleased with what they've done with their show! The set list has been switched up and the visuals and stage presentation also got a facelift.

No mention on this thread of them headlining this year's Wireless Festival on Saturday (http://www.wirelessf...uk/2011/lineup/)
Only just found out about this myself, I'm thinking about it....

festival gigs don't really count as most probably those will miss the reel/encore.
Huh? I beg to differ.
If the Chems are dragging their asses and all their gear out to play a show, then it sure does count for a gig!
I'm really sad now. I guess most times I've seen the Chems doesn't count because it was festival shows.

I did not want to devaluate festival gigs here. it is always great to see the chems BUT: the guys here wait for proper shows in a concert venue, with a proper fuckin' roof above their heads. hot and sticky air and the sound reflecting from the walls, literally coming from everywhere. they want encores and they want the reel.
with most festivals, unfortunately, some or even all of the above is missing. hence they don't count here in this context.

I see what you are getting at but you are denigrating the festival experience, actually. Not all us can be blessed at seeing the Chems in the setting that you are referring to. I mean personally, I would love to see the Chems indoors one day!! It is not worth arguing though as I am a firm believer that the experience is what you make it... But please don't make sweeping assumptions by claiming to know exactly what counts as a 'real' gig and know what everyone in the UK wants. Ask Tom and Ed, ask their crew, ask their managers, and ask people who have gotten the most out of seeing the Chems play a festival - they might have a different view of things than you. :)
Oh. Still sad over here for not having had the proper gig experience. ;-)
