I'll go for The Blue Room, please. This loopy Tibetian thing is just silly.

I remember hearing about this about a year ago on my ssx forum. Interesting concept, music for the slugs.

Speaking of long songs, I know this is not as impressive but the first song that came to mind was the japanese electronic rock act Buffalo Daughter '303 Live' (It's not a live recording) clocking 20:05. still, I saw them play it live at fuji 04....that was just a little weird......they extended it to 30 minutes. And that being on an album with 3 tracks longer then 8 minutes.

Led Zeppelin was known to extend songs in their set to 30min long. "Moby Dick" is epic live!

Actually there's an album called Amarok by Mike Oldfield which on CD is one track and just over 60mins long. Tubular Bells is under 50 if I remember rightly.

I think Blue Room by The Orb is still officially recognised as the longest single ever released at 39.59mins long. The BPI won't allow a single to be over 40mins apparently.

haha nice!

Oxygene by Jean Michel Jarre springs to mind (about 45mins) but it spans several tracks, part I, II, III etc so doesn't count.

Was listening to this today, and it got very "Chemical" if you know what I mean ;). I swear there were parts of Out Of Control playing with a huge drumbeat with reverb on full. It sounded pretty cool.
