As much as you guys find their posts annoying, im finding the defending of this track, just as annoying.
And you people that claim your not fan boys/girls. Your all full of shit.

"Though it got mixed reviews on the first listen on the Pete Tong show, it's been a typical grower on most fans, with the simple catchy and very robot dance like beat, and has left fans with one thing very clear in their heads - the Chemical Brothers are not making music for the charts or critics, they like to make music they enjoy and think is fresh and new."
This is more of an opinion than a fact. Maybe you could edit it before someone else does so?
It IS a fact! 8)

I can't speak for others, but I genuinely like the track on its own merits, not just because it's from the Chems. My computer speakers are rather poor and I can't wait to hear it on a proper setup, whenever that may be. It's one of those tracks that has immediate appeal, precisely what a single should be. Leave it for the album cuts, especially the closer to delve deep into the psyche. Enjoy Do It Again for what it is: a sexy ass-shaker.
Perhaps it's because my speakers are so poo and I can't hear with perfect clarity a lot of the smaller flourishes that are in the production, but the vocal is really what grabs me. I can understand why many of you aren't too fussy about it, but I really like it. It's different from any other vocal we've seen on a Chems song before (that I can recall anyways) and shows a different side. I find it infectious and slinky.

When Galvanize came out I wasn't a big fan (not much of a fan today either), but it was at least an uplifting track that you could jump to when you're feeling good, or step on the gas pedal when you're driving.
This track has got...nothing - it doesn't go anywhere, the lyric is annoying, it simply doesnt feel like it should be a single. As somebody mentioned it sounds more like one of those half-finished, b-grade tracks that you put in the middle of an album.
To put it this way - if I was listening to a radio in my car, and this song came up without knowing its Chems, I'd probably go "meh, whats this crap" and switched it to another station. And I'll bet half of you people would do the same thing.
I understand that all of us are getting excited about the forthcoming album and we all want to support Tom and Ed and sing them praises about everything they put out, but sometimes we have to stop being just a fan and admit if something is sub-par. Do it Again is a sub-par track when comparing it the the usual Chems standard, full stop. But I still have a hope the WATN is gonna be an excellent album.

Now where's a "shake hands" smiley when you need one? ;-)
Hopefully the next single grabs you a little more.
(And I know exactly what it's like to be disappointed by the new output of a band that has a special place in your heart. I've stopped following a few groups as closely in recent years due to what I perceive as creative deficits, to put it mildly.)

This is nothing compared to when Golden Path was heard, talk about ugly, don't know who here saw it but everyone was really for or against it! Luckily when GYH came out everyone loved that and the aggression settled... :)
Yeah, that was quite the scandal and it got very unpleasant. I was only a lurker back then but things were more than a little tense.

I don't have any fears for WATN. Chems albums have much more depth than 'just' a single. Most of the times the best tracks aren't even singles. So we can expect more floorkiller and psychedelic anthems.
I say lets skip may and bring on june (oh no wait I'll miss out on 2 gigs then)

Groove Armanda played a slightly different edit last night on Pete Tongs esential. It starts a bit over half an hour in the show. Followed by a smashing track by The Prodigy :D
Speaking of GA... These guys are HUGE now. Their new stuff is absolutely amazing. Bring on the new album!
As for "Do It Again", I think it's a rather cool and catchy slice of pop-flavoured minimal-techno. MUCH better than Galvanize anyway imho...I still can't make myself like that song :( But as good as it is, it's kinda weak for Chems :? Something Data Records release every now and then. But not a horrible single at all... Just sounds a bit underproduced.
