can't give u info about justin and why he gave me that record that nite - i still can't believe, just know i've got it.
Well this just makes you sound like either you stole it or are lieing. Don't see why you would have a gag order over an old record.
Boy with the Golden Eyes Escribi:
sorry, can't copy it on harddisk, don't have the equipment for that
Uh you dont have a microphone input for your computer? [Stereo System]--->[Mic In]--->[Recording Software (www.goldwave.com)]--->[Hard Disk]
Not that hard.
I completely understand about you collecting. I collect alot of their stuff too so I totally feel you on that. Older forum members know that I collect but I guess since you joined while I wasn't actively posting you don't know much about me. I've got alot of rarities too.

Use the line-in on the soundcard. And that assumes your stereo has line-out/aux, most don't actually have that.

Don't plug it into the mic-in, the output from the stereo will be far too 'hot' for the soundcard's pre-amp, and will sound like total shite. If you're gonna do that, don't bother to encode it any higher than 24Kbs as an MP3.

I think most recievers have line out/out lines. And you can plug it into the mic in. Though know what you're doing first and have a some what decent sound card. I have a old one but it doesn't have bad noise interference. Also windows has a setting where it will mess with the eq of the incoming mic so make sure to turn that off. It wont be too hot but you will have to do some leveling inorder to get everything lined up straight. I've used mic in several times to make digital rips of my old vinyl that I don't want to be playing alot. and they sound great. It's a little technically savy BWGE but you, as in everyone in this forums, is smart enough to figure it out.

there are 2 versions of MMM available with the original track. the first one -a test pressing- is white-labelled and Tom or Ed wrote "THE DUST BROTHERS ----- SONG TO THE SIREN" with black edding on the front white label, the back says "JUIOR BOY'S OWN".

I am in charge of all that stuff at my store. And I am more than happy to give out posters, flats, anything sent from labels that will likely find its way in the trash if unused. I'd rather give the stuff away than toss it.

Those promo posters aren't for them to make a profit from, I don't see what the big deal is giving away extra point-of-purchase materials that are just going to be thrown in the trash anyway. Some people...
It really does depend on the store tho. Some stores within my chain don't let customers have any kind of merdchandising material. But my store has always been good in giving that stuff away. Even when I was a little kid.
Plus we're all lazy bastards. If giving posters and flats away means one less trip to the garbage cans - I say give it away! All of it! ;)

You ought to donate some of that promotional material to the forum. ;)
