Heard it on Friday night on the essential selection, great to hear new album stuff coming thought. It?s a great track.
Anyone else who listened to the essential selection on Friday, do you not think groove armada were a bit self indulgent playing 6 of their own tracks on the show?

What I don't get is this need of some people to rationalize the song. You try to find any proper classification that allows you to view it as a-best-of-its-kind.
I never had any need to position do it again against chems' earlier productions, earlier singles, galvanize, justin timberlake, timbaland, today's pop scene or any other meaningless and boring trend. (At least this time) I took the track just as it is: a track.
I guess since I liked the track from the start my defence mechanisms didn't flare up.

soundertow, don't lie to yourself! don't give in to the hippies!
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Finally there's someone who understands me and the way music should be! Music is not as. Music is!

I don't see what's wrong with contextualizing a song.
Yeah, you are right. Looking back I think I got the (false?) impression that this thread had partially become a support group for people who are pissed of the track... "there there, it's not that bad, maybe it's following the trends set up by other producers instead of leading but it's still the chemical way of doing so! it's a pop world so you gotta do pop cause pop is pop" ... and I don't think support is dumb but I find some of the arguments so silly I just had to response. Nothing wrong with contextualizing songs - it's just so easy to fall into some strange sort of fan culture which thrives on secondary details and in my opinion just makes you miserable in the end.
Speaking of comparisons, from my point of view this discussion has elements that are the total opposite of what they were at the time Push The Button was coming out. At that time I was quite disappointed and now some of the people who were very happy about Galvanize and such are expressing disappointment to this track. So basically I'm just talking about people having different tastes and opinions but still I find all the views written down in this thread very unpredictable even though I have experienced both the feeling of getting positively surprised and the feeling of disappointment by a long-waited track and possibly have an idea of how those feelings might reflect on the output.
I really enjoy this thread because - unlike most of the other threads - here there is actually some discussion going on between all the one-liners. And more notably here the prerequisites are pretty much having listened to the track instead of attending/having attended to a specific live show or knowing a particular set of insider information accessible in a group that is connected outside of the board.
Music doesn't usually exist in a vacuum. Unless you've got one of those fancy music-playing vacuums.
