b4 i start this isn't another ptb topic (well it is in a way but it's not, so bear with me,,,,,,just because i only found the forums a couple of weeks ago doesn't make me a muppet, just means i'm blind and don't pay attention to whats on the screen...)
I work nightshift right............. so its kinda hard for me to get to the shops during the day coz i'm in my kip.........
so on monday i was as desperate as the next man to listen to the new music.......... so I happen to have an ipod and proceded to buy the album from Itunes at 7.99................(listened to it all week in work...........even forced my workmates to listen to it too using the wee transmitter i have for the pod, it was quite well recieved..... )
then today I went up to tesco purposely to buy the cd at another 11 quid
so in reality i paid 18 quid for the cd ............. or rented it for 7.99 for 5 days...........
and the moral of the story............CD will never die
what do you guys think.....am i mad?
personally i like to have the actual package.......... completes the collection too (and my ipod won't fit in the cd rack)

P.S
sorry i was so bold as to post in the forum.......... i can see where you guys are coming from tho about all the people who would jump on the inevitable bandwagon of a new album...............
i';m afraid i've been on that particular wagon for years....the fact that i havn't posted here until a few weeks ago is besides the point............ i decided to check out the forums because I was browsing the site looking for a release date of an album that i won't mention for fear of being witch hunted and spotted the forum link ,I thought i would find some like minded people who are into some of the things i am ...........(i never felt the need or want to look at them before and that old flash site was a pain in the arse to navigate.................)
to be honest with you............ after seeing the way you people treat any new name on here i don't know why i bothered...........
the point that you seem to miss tho is that with all the buzz surrounding a new release new people get into the band which can only be a good thing.... for both the fans and tom and ed.......... more money for them (i seriously doubt thats important to them tho )...better gigs........ more cd sales,,,record company is happy ...we are happy cuz they won't think twice about publishing another album.....
so let me know what topics you deem suitable for posting here........
wtf is happening to humanity?

good boint there pablo about new fans are here just cos they are excited by the new album. stick with us, the dust is gonna settle soon. for us old timers round here its been like hundreds of travellers have turned up camped on our ground and left the place littered. hope you understand why we are a little unwelcoming at the moment. of course it would be great to have more new faces round here contributing regularly.
I'm a fuckin doughnut

Pablo,
Welcome to the chems fansite - you a re a breath of fresh air and its always nice to have someone dig the band that your into (you)
I work with someone who used to "kind of" like the chems - from the EPD days and made a copy of the album for him only to tell me it was "the worst" I told him - you gotta keep listening to it and he proceeded to site examples of why the album suxks and to me the examples he gave are why I liked it - "too many bleeps and sounds and I cant listen to the music and just when I get into it - I hear a whoooomp, or wheeeeerrrrrrr sound, and the vocals I dont like the vocals.
Im glad you like the album - welcome to our forum - a welcome addition, nevermind the creeps that populate this board

X-D nice comparison. It's like thousands of horny rhinos trampling through new english greensward... Was that the same when "Come With Us" was released?
E(argasm) = m(usic) x c(hemicals)²

yeah i do understand where you are coming from with all the new posts but what pissed me off is that everybody got tarred with the same brush........... when the dust settles i imagine i'll still be here..............
what difference does it make how long somebody has been into the chems the fact that they are into them should make us all happy for the reasons i stated above.......
I could spout on about how i've probably been into the MUSIC longer than most people here ,yes i did buy EPD when it came out way back in 95
no i didn't post on the forum till 2 weeks ago (so sue me)...
yes i have seen them live (how many times i won't go into but its more than 4)
(i was a BIG prodigy fan at the time EPD came out so was in tune with that kinda music and thought i'd give the chems a try) was the best thing i ever did coz i've enjoyed 10 years of aural extacy.... i have very fond memories of that summer...EPD was out.......Jilted was out, we danced till our legs fell off....
then after a short rest and some stitches got up and danced some more
within the last year i've introduced 1 friend to the chems and its been so good to watch him get into the music and get as ecited about it as I've been for so long.................
you shoulda seen his smiling little face when he showed me his now complete chemicals cd collection .....
at the end of the day accept me or not makes no difference to me....I'll still have my cd's and i still know what I like..........

Ah, yes.. i know exactly the track that made me aware of the chems. It was the loops of Fury EP at the time EPD came out. I went out and bought the album on vinyl, and CD and bought every available single on both media as well. These days not only do I do that, I buy double copys if I can handle it.
I WILL NOT EVER BE LEFT WITHOUT like a moterway. 2 copies
I also have 2 copies of the Mercury Rev single.
