Hey guys and girls :D I was wondering if any of you had www.last.fm accounts.

It's a Radio website, you basically type up a band you like and it'll come up with things related to that (E.G if I searched 'Chemical Brothers' it will start to play Chemical Brothers songs, along with music related to that, like Daft Punk, The Prodigy, Underworld etc).

It's also has a forum and a message system so you can talk to people with similar music tastes to you.

It's basically your own private radio station with its own forum :D.

Anyways, I'd like to see what your music taste outside of the Chemical Brothers is like, if you have an account add me on there, my name is TaterGod (Long story about the name...), and if you don't have an account, sign up!!

Sorry, but this forum is the main hub for chemical talk. Its the friken band website! I think most people have the glastonbury set here. Why don't you tell your whole forum to come over here. I'll bet you any money that our forum is better and has more info ;)

Well it has 20 Million members since 2002, and I really can't be arsed spreading the word for the chance of them liking the Chemical Brothers :P

I just thought some of this forum's members would benefit from the site, free music downloads, Gig info etc. etc.

I also recall reading some posts of people asking for a download of their 07 tour since there isn't a DVD, and theres no site where you can download it from ;).

But we can get all that stuff on here. And 20 Million members is too hard to beleive. Not even Discogs has that many members. -_-

"Last.fm is a UK-based internet radio and music community website, founded in 2002. It is the world's largest social music platform with over 20 million active users based in more than 232 countries. On 30 May 2007, CBS Interactive acquired Last.fm for £140m (US$280m), the largest European Web 2.0 purchase to date."

Easy fellas... the most important thing is the music that brings us here to this forum, our cozy non-20 million user corner of the universe. I like it close knit, intimate. And y'all are all right by me.

I mean, if Taterz likes to hang at last.fm and is excited about it, let him be.

And Taterz, we're fair game to talking about other bands, other tastes besides the Chems. We have different musical backgrounds, we all come from different places. If you're interested in what we think about bands other than the Chems, just stick around plus you could always start a thread. Just a thought.

Prochem, Last.fm really counts more than 20.000.000 users. I've been one of them since March 2005 and I'm quite pleased with it (you can check my account by clicking on my user name). It makes you discover artists you may had never heard of before, which is always good.

Whirly, you're right. What I was pointing at is that there are better ways to promote something by just registering here and feeding us figures and statistics.

I only copied and pasted a little thing to show that I wasn't lying. I didn't mean any offense, but when someone accuses me of lying/over-exaggerating, I have the need to 'clear' my name :S.

I just thought some people on this site would benefit from another site, and no I'm not part of the team on there .

20,000,000 users have accessed their services, but arent active on the forums or in the community. Thats approx 20 million times the Last Fm audioscrobbler has been registered since it began, which is an impressive figure but contains re-registers, duplicate services etc etc. Not to attack Last FM but i have a problem with the mis-use of stats. Vocational hazard.

Last FM is fun to see who is listening to your own tunes, and "ive heard of" "some people" doing experiments leaking their own tracks various ways and seeing where it pops up. Now THAT is a cool thing about play logging / audioscrobbling ;)
