Please give us a little bit of the dark stuff again. Please?
A little less of the funky bass guitar type stuff(CWU) and little bit more of the heavy dark style(DYOH). I am not asking yuo to make a repeat of DYOH, just to take note of the deepness, abstractness and darkness of that album.
I know you guys still dig that feeling that music can give you when an unexpected sound comes in and sorta freaks you out a bit and makes you look at each other and with a grin and a look that expresses "oh...bloody fucking hell...what the fuck was that?". There are a few monets like that in your "Confront Your Demons" mix. You know..... like around the section where the monkeys start to yap at you and then evil flies out of the speakers. Yeah...give us a little bit of that.
Thanks!

i don't think they should do dyoh 2, however i personally like the evolution of there sound and i think it is better that they move on to other types and not rely on one sound to define them.
I agree. That is what I am getting at. I want to hear what they could do with their evolved sound, but more along the lines of a darker/fresh style.

bit of a strange request, asking for the album to have a darker sound. especially as they have been holed up in the studio for the past 2 years working on new music. i think they have only a couple of months work left to finish the album. maybe you have spoken sooner!!
i don't care how it sounds right this moment. as long as its fresh, new, change of dirrection, yet distinctly chemical brothers who cares!!

Let me put it this way....... the Kylie remix seemed like a step in the wrong direction. I have not heard Acid Children yet, so I guess I should give it a listen before I make any more requests.

and wtf was wrong with kylie remix??? prototype pop-acid house 2004!!! sonically a step in the right dirrection if you ask me.
I liked the break down(BT'esqe/old school Chemical bassline) in there, but that was about it. It just didn't have that magic sound the Chems are known for. othing really grabbed me by the balls. : )

Would have been better if they had gone Bottleneckstompie on it. ;-)
why, it's already been done!!!
actually the delta bottleneck stomp is one of my favorite remixes. the falling and rising noises, piano riff, the vocals, and the whole balearic vibe of the track. you just gotta love it

I think the initial thing that put me off with Come With Us was the flow. It was so different than anything they'd done, so it really came at me from out of left field. It didn't feel like a consistant journey when I first heard it. You know, their first records - mainly Dig Your Own Hole and especially Surrender - had a sort of consistancy, a very conceptual feel that travelled from song to song to song - all contributing to the bigger picture or bigger feel of the record as a whole. Come With Us struck me as being at a sort of musical crossroads: each song going sort of this way and that in relation to one another, a sort of zig zagging journey that definitely didn't move in a straight, singular line like the rest of their records. Not trying to mean that as a negative in any way, just more an observation of how I perceive Come With Us. I love the record now, it's what it is even if the record didn't adhere to the standard Chemical formula - a good effort that's highly underrated, imo.
But anyway.
I really like the end result of the Kylie remix. I remember negative talk here about it going to suck (understandably so, it was Kylie and this place isn't exactly the Kylie-lovers forum!) but in the end most here liked what the Chemicals did with Slow. People here gave it a listen and judged it fairly, and I think that also says a lot about us fans.
I really, really, really dig Electronic Battle Weapon 7 (Acid Children). It is quite the teaser and a great one at that. I am fully prepared to go wherever the next chemical journey takes me.
Hopefully there won't be too many clowns there. ;)

Have to say that I love Come With Us a lot. It feels like a proper album to me largely because the songs are distinct and touch upon different vibes. (Especially love Denmark/Pioneer Skies: pure beauty.) Surrender's still my fave Chems album, but not by that much.
And, there's at least one Kylie-lover on this forum..... :-// (Body Language is a really great electro-pop album. Also, check out the Fischerspooner mix of Come Into My World. It's orgasmadelic. :D )

mmm, Fischerspooner ;)
yeah, that remix is a great track
so I've just heard EBW7.. yay!!!
Here's what I said to one Mr. Krasnikoff:
"is it just me, or do they know when to make the right sound at the right time? it's like, they're making the sound that I've been craving"
