Global warming is just a name. It designates both warming and... colding (?) of the planet. Dunno what the word would be in English :D

It is now more accurately referred to as global climate change. Originally dubbing it "global warming" (in English) was a poor choice to start with.
Gonna work it out...

Yeah and in France we have a guy (an ex minister) who keep saying that all that talk on global warming is bullshit. He gives so called proofs about that (although most of the time, his proofs are irrelevant).
This winter he said "see how cold it is ? How is that global "warming" ?"
He's a douche

Here's the thing. Many people don't believe it is an accurate theory and suggest there is not enough proof. I usually pose these two questions to them:

1 - Even if you don't believe that man made gases, waste and pollutants are responsible for global climate change, what is your logical and reasonable argument
against conservationism, recycling and responsible legislation for keeping the planet clean for future generations?

2 - Even if you don't believe that man made gases, waste and pollutants are responsible for accelerating global climate change, do you deny the theory of global climate change altogether? If so, research plate tectonics and glacial periods or ice ages.

Unfortunately, there are many douchebags regarding the subject, but it is particularly sad when they are decision makers for the people.

Gonna work it out...

The relationship between global climate change and greenhouse gases etc is grossly exaggerated and altogether unclear.

I agree with Satur8's Q#1, I do firmly. But, really, the majority of discussion on the topic is pretty weak.
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

*eeeee*!
This is almost as exciting as Further! And in a similar way, too! The new song (if its title is anything to go by) is like the "Wonders of the Deep" of Underworld: they've been playing live since 2005 and this is the first time anyone will be able to hear a studio version! I've suddenly got a lot of stuff on my plate to look forward to!

Hey, did anyone catch the underworld track? I had to work late and don't have my laptop so I can't listen back right now...

...or change my name back for that matter. D-:<

No kidding! Daft Punk's doing the Tron soundtrack and I think Justice has a new album in the works, too.

All I need is for Orbital to announce that they'll start recording again and I will faint (or swoon!).

Ooh, that Underworld track is great. Kinda cheese, but GREAT. Full of uplifting energy!!!

They played a very early version of the track last summer when I saw them in Oakland. It's interesting to hear how far it's come along.

Definitely!
Hopefully my illnesses will kick out by tonight. I already missed 2 days of work. Head, nose, ear, and throat got the best of me. What I don't understand is that i'm one of the healthiest guys at work, and here I am on my bed with Cup o' Noodles, cough drops, and Sencha tea.

Yesterday was worst. I was so sick, I thought I wasn't gonna make it to the hospital and be read my last rites...

I saw Enter the Void yesterday. It's the new Gaspar NoƩ movie (the guy who did Irreversible). It's really special (as usual), a bit disturbing, but I loved the movie. Very aesthetic, psychedelic, and technically impressive.

Just watch the credits (and imagine them on a big screen at the cinema), it should make you want to see more :

The movie is about a guy and his sister. They just moved to Tokyo, he lives on small drug deals, she's a stripper. The whole movie is seen from the eyes of the guy. One night he gets shot by the cops during a deal, and his mind leaves his body and begins to float, and he can see everything from the top. He also re-live importants events from his life. Anyway, you need to see it !

EDIT : oh and the sound effects (you can't really say "music", it's more sounds that make an atmosphere) are by Thomas "Daft Punk" Bangalter. They fit the universe perfectly and make the movie even more opressive

Underworld - Scribble

There's an interview that begins at 29:07, track begins at 30:11.

Btw, the track is amazing. Absolutely amazing. It might keep me occupied until Further comes out!

Sounds like an interesting film... I'll keep it in mind whenever it makes an appearance in San Francisco.

I've been in Boulder, Colorado for a few days now and I'm about to start heading East again. A crack in my windshield kept me here for longer than I anticipated.

Shortly after I got my car, a rock from a speeding street-sweeper flew up and hit my windshield on the freeway, resulting in a large "bulls-eye" type chip on my windshield. It didn't change; it stayed the same size, despite a number of mechanics and auto-repair persons telling me that it was going to grow into a crack and creep across my entire windshield.

I suppose they weren't wrong--I now have to replace it. But I don't think anyone anticipated that the windshield would last nine years. My own Jewish miracle: the oil that lasted ten days is my windshield that lasted almost a decade.

It's one metaphor in a string of many for my life, the huge, sweeping change taking place. All very beautiful when you consider the purpose.
