Well, that's what my local radio station said. They said that it is confirmed that there will be no tour for North America for promotion of We Are The Night. Well, I wonder where they are getting their facts from?

Is it time to give up on north american dates? :(

Oh dear...

Granted, touring North America has got to be one giant pain in the ass, but still...

is there some way that I can know if the chemical brothers will be playing Coachella in 08? Or do I have to kill myself because I'm more then likely gonna be missing a 3 date tour in the US?

OK.

Now that the initial disappointment and shocking dismay has subsided somewhat, I want to be rational. I'm not sure that we were ever promised a full scale tour - just some dates. There's still some empty empty slots between the London Gig on September 9 and the NYC gig on 21st. And there's a gap from the 21st til when the California dates happen. Here's hoping.

I would feel better hearing confirmation straight from a source somehow. Radio stations have been known to dispense rumors that don't always pan out, so for now it might be best to just treat it as that: rumor - not 100% fact.

They really need to stray away from Cali and New York. It's like they arent even giving the rest of the US a chance.

I kinda would like a truthful explination of why the US cant get more dates, whether it hurts my feelings or not.

If this is true (which I really hope it's not), this is without a doubt the worst treatment I've ever recieved from a band's HQ. "Dates are coming. They're coming. They're coming soon. Very soon. Keep waiting. Wait one... more.... second..... ok, we're not doing any more dates." Thanks. If you're not going to do a North American tour, don't say you are. If you don't know for sure, don't make it seem like you do. And for those of you who think that Errol shouldn't be taking the crap, may I ask you - where exactly does the buck stop? When things are getting to the point where fans are getting genuinely angry at the lack of information and constant teasing, don't you think there's a problem there?

But, that is my reserved rant. Like I said, I really hope this isn't true.

no offense but we probably know more than the radio dj does any day, given that there are already dates and tickets on sale. did he say confirmed they wont tour or canceled? I don't really think this is worth too much concern aside from the raised eye-brow

It's just what one radio station said. It could just be a rumor. But............If they were going to do a tour here, they would have announced it by now. :(

was the radio dj referring to no tour in your area or in the US, i think that might be the mix up. Yeah, it's probably going to be some driving. who knows. think it's strange thought that the brooklyn show is on sale soon and yet it hasn't been announced

Hold Tight USA!Hopefully that radio dj got it wrong, they often do.Surely they wont take the show over to the States for just 3 shows? As Whirly said, ther's plenty of gaps in the schedule yet.Fingers crossed for you.

A few things:

1) I am NOT this band's US booking agent. I am however doing everything in my power to asist in making as many dates as possible happen for the fans.

2) I stopped promising information at a certain time because this has proven a complicated process wherein deciding the best venues/cities etc has taken some time.

3) The band and all of us would obviously love to do a lot more cities. However this isn't just some lap tops and lights - this is the full chemicals experience that everyone wants and demands. As a result, venues have to be a certain size and able to handle the full production.

4) The tour is EXPENSIVE. The band bring a Herculean amount of gear and equipment and the freight alone is a killer. So while playing a small gig in a 1500 capacity venue sounds fun, it's actually not technically possible.

5) The band have a worldwide touring commitment and as such they have a certain amount of time for America. We plan to use that time to the utmost as far as dates - and if the tour and album go well hopefully they can return soon for more dates - if the demand and venues allow.

As for all of the hostility directed at me personally and consistently on this forum - I'll say this and that'll be it: its not so much mystifying as downright rude. You will be hard pressed to find an individual who has devoted more of his life to the US FANS of Tom and Ed.

LASTLY;

Today a Brooklyn date was announced in addition to the Hammerstein NYC date. I CAN confirm here that these will be the only US east coast dates on this run. There will be two more dates announced soon in addition to LA and SF - but not on the east coast, so Id definetely snatch up those NY tix if you are planning on travelling to one of those dates - before they all go.

Love,

Errol

errol, have I told you lately that I love you?

I'll say it again if it's a show in seattle or another show in sf.

you do a great job and I think most people on this forum appreciate it. can't let the i'll tempered 1-time-poster who comes in and vent get through.

Errol, thank you for some clarity of why its so difficult to book a gig here in the states. And sorry if people might be getting moody at you (me included), were just frusturated.

Does Chicago hold any kind of chance on getting a date from the Chemical Brothers? Or do I need to go into panic mode and quickly find a way out to NY or Cali?
