this is old hat now ....but it was a weak album...i cant beleive they put galaxy bounce on the record...it makes me cringe! tho i know they took an indie root on this 1 it didnt have the power and cool riffs of dig your own hole and surrender...after dig your own hole i was proud to be a fan and was gagging wen they released something ....altho get yourself high i think is thier best song ever....back on track ladz...im still a fan ( funny vid 4 get yourself high btw )

wif chem songs u either like em or not....its the samples they use it either flows or it turns you off....another thing about the lp.....wen i got it i always listened to my elastic eye ...but now i dont know either ive grown up or ive listened to better music recently...they wud have stuck stuff like that on b-sides back in the days...most of the stuff doesnt astnd up nowadays like the classics black rockin beats and setting sun!
wif golden path its a nice tune but when the vocals kick in it feels like a church anthem...i dont wanna sound cocky but stuff on come with us was soft and pussy ! star guitar seems half finsihed! the test blew me away tho....
maybe i loved dig your own hole so much..but you never saw that lp in the bargain bins ....

even though I hate house music for the most part, star guitar was the only track that I enjoyed off the start from come with us. to me it has a housey feel to it, but it's still good, right now my favorite.
DYOH is my least favorite of the chem studio albums, even though by reading it most people will instinctively say 'are you mental?', it is still one of my favorite albums of all time... so please don't get me wrong. But coming from a stand point of favoring the DYOH stuff, come with us is bound to rub you the wrong way since both are very different, night and day to each other. It's like if you love come with us, you won't like dyoh too much and if you love dyoh, come with wont be too high up there. I'd definitly say that dyoh was the most ground breaking

I like things to be dirty.
And this is not in a sexual way.
Dirty sound of the whole garage-rock-thing is something I love.
The dirty kick ass sound of dark acid/ electro tracks.
The only thing I don't like about dirty is Britney Spears with her song DIRTY.
She really sucks. (not sexual way I mean)

Not Britney Spears....Christina Aguelira (??/or however the fuck you spell her name)
Dig you own hole is whole another story. It's big beat, raw, hip hop, rock instrumental whereas Surrender and Come with us are more house, electro, little bitty techno all mixed. the later two are more dance oriented imo and EPD and DYOH are just ment to fuck with your brains ->

yeah that was the only time I was glad to have been watching tv in the last 10 years.
Antype got it right, dyoh is pretty "dirty." Exit planet dust had been my favorite album until Surrender got age and I realized I was listening to that a lot. Dyoh is like the hard alcohol of chems music. I've found my self favoring dont stop the rock (maybe cause I got the ebw) so that could mean I'm beginning to enjoy that album more

DYOH. That record is dirty, that's a good description. To my ears it's almost experimental, and quite genre busting, it has it all. Funky grooves, spaced out weirdness, delicate melodies especially Where Do I Begin, crunchy guitar sounds, and Private Psychadelic Reel is 7+ minutes of pure ecstasy. I read somewhere, an interview where Tom and Ed said that a lot of those sounds on DYOH... sound retarded. Or something. I love it. Though I admit when I first heard the album I thought it was brilliant in a "what the fuck?" kind of way. To be more honest I wasn't even sure I was feeling it - but that was then. I didn't know what to make of it - I think that's part of it's brilliance. I do know people that get a migraine just thinking about DYOH, so I can understand why it's not a favorite. This conversation could go on and on (not that that's a bad thing) All their records have their fingerprints all over it, you can hear it and know it's the Chemicals. Yet they all are vastly different from one another, they take you different places and make you feel different things. Perhaps given the right setting while listening, a lot of their records have a "concept" sort of feel. Anyway - about their records being different and them trying out new things/sounds, I think that's one mark of creative musicianship.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
