An email was sent out today, redarding the Live 05 EP... Here it is for those of you who didn't get it:

The Chemical Brothers will release 'Live 05', a digital-only three track live EP on 28th November.

The release will coincide with the bands final live dates of the year in the UK. Featuring ?Surface To Air?, ?The Big Jump? and ?Close Your Eyes? (with the Magic Numbers), the EP will mark another hugely successful year for The Chemical Brothers.

The UK tour will see Tom and Ed play for a record the sixth time at Brixton Academy this year. Having sold out there last UK tour and appeared at Glastonbury and Coachella, the December dates will be the last opportunity this year to witness their legendary live shows this year. Cagedbaby and DJ James Holroyd will be the support acts for these dates.

Well I was close: I guesses the set list would have surface to air, come inside, and close your eyes. looking foward to the 28th!

Astralwerks is so dumb, why just release 3 live tracks(digitally)? They obviously dont try hard enough to get any tour dates for the chemical brother fans in the U.S., so why dont they make up for it by releasing a full live set cd? they would (astralwerks) make more money that way too.....plus, they already screwed up by not releasing the single"believe" in the U.S. which won a MTV european award for best video

dont get me wrong ill relish these 3 live tracks well, but the chemical brothers did like a total of 4 concerts in the U.S. during 05.....this release is such a tease

Yeah, it is kinda a pisser that they really only did like few shows, i probably shouldn't complain since they did one right by me and I couldn't afford to go. But you really have to plan a major road trip if you do not live on one of the coasts.

It's a bummer since 7 years ago they did 2 good sized tours through the US. I think it's just cause you can't be successful in the US with out..well..sucking ass. I mean really, how the hell is ashlee simpson still making albums after having a reality show where she proved she flat out cannot sing followed by being the only person ever to get caught lip synking on SNL. This country has developed a tolerance for major failures (I'm not going into the presidency again) and no longer has taste for skills or knowing how to play a guitar or piano.

Maybe this the injustice that drove me away from the record store industry.

just found out that astralwerks news letter isnt the only one promoting this, it was also being promoted by the offiical chemical brothers news letter.......my mistake............however, Astralwerks is still on my shitlist and they really do need to get their ass in gear and get some chem gigs in the U.S.

The thing with Astralwerks is, they are focusing on other things musically, focusing on more "bands" that are less like the electronic variety (Chems and Fatboy) that put them on the industry map.

I get the feeling in a lot of ways Astralwerks are still finding their stride which is no small feat. Many labels continue to find their stride, the label industry is a tough one and everything's got to happen at the right time and place.

I'm not defending them because I don't really know the innerworkings of Astralwerks, but given the fickleness of the American music market (from a consumer's level) you can't really blame a label for branching out and trying to tarket an ever changing market. It just so happens we as Chems fans feel slighted because we feel this targeting happened at the expense of the Chems. Anyway blah blah. The label industry has been on somewhat shakey ground for a while and it can't rest its entire burden on the shoulders of only one band like, say, The Chemical Brothers. Especially in the States since you know as well as I do that electronic music for the most part has had it's over-saturated run and though it is still alive and well it's just not as in your face as it once was only a short few years ago.

That's not to say that the Chemical Brothers and say, Fatboy Slim aren't the fortunate sons of the label - they are! But Astralwerks is off and doing other things. Really, you see the Astralwerks newsletters and the Chems have been getting relatively small mentions down the page. *sigh*

Yeah, I do agree with you Bosco that Astralwerks dropped with ball with Believe. Push The Button was well received here in the States, it sold really really well! The momentum of sales petered out in the long stretch of time between the release of Galvanize and The Boxer ep and personally I think it's a crying shame there wasn't the release of Believe to fill in that gap and keep peoples' interests. I wish I knew why that happened, but what's done is done and there's nothing we can do but continue to support the Chems in any way we can.

and lets not forget Kele Okereke from bloc party sang on that track......and his band's debut album, did really really well in the U.S........missed oppertunity for big sales for astralwerks?........i think so

I know I shouldn't be confused, but I thought "Love 05" was going to be the name of this release and now I'm seeing official artwork and everything for "Live 05".

Ah well - "Love 05" will be my pet name for these 3 songs!
