heh. . .ya, "a long day" is definitely a one-time listen. . .i dont 'think' they've tried to play it in concert yet. :) i read that the album itself was originally intended as a demo CD. which would explain its apperant lack of 'substance.' they've got a new album ready, but the record company wont release it until the first one stops selling. :'(
im currently working on trying to get tickets to see them here in austin. . they are playing with david bowie in a couple weeks and i want to go baaaaaaaad! i think i like them so much cause they are almost like anti-angst rockers, which is something ive never seen before (the lead singer said he was tired of making 'piss-off-your-parents' rock). when i saw them at the SXSW festival there were a few people who wanted to stay angry and pissed-off and left after the first couple of songs. you really have to be ok with being joyful at their shows, you cant help but feel it, and for some people its too much X-D .

@gundi: yes, SXSW was overwhelming but incredible.
there were 57 venues each hosting about 6 bands a night for 4 nights.
there were over 1300 bands, and thats just the offical performances. . . there were tons of day shows and bars that werent part of the event packed with music anyway.
i got to see over 40 bands and got to drink (too much) free beer. :D
the bands i saw from europe were:
-the division of laura lee (vanersborg, sweden)
-the sounds (helsingborg, sweden)
-british sea power (brighton, uk)
-junior senior (copenhagen, denmark)
i liked the sounds and junior senior alright. wasnt too keen on the others. . .still it was a great experience just to get a sample of whats going on all over the music world.
