Her father did everything effortlessly he could to get her to pass her demons, and now he has to bury his own daughter!

This is pretty sad - I'm waiting for the declared reason behind her death. Will it be overdose or suicide?

C'mon guys, like anyone is suprised by that. It's always sad to see a young life go, but with her lifestyle it's not really a suprise that she's dead. There's only so much a body and/or a mind can handle. Let this be a lesson and try to live life a little bit responsible.

^And still there were people surprised when Jacko died too! Anyways, Amy will be super-hyped and will become a legend with simply one meh album. I was recently laughing my ass off with her last Belgrade show, I feel so guilty Posted Image

I used to read about her in papers long before i heard her single song. I'll never forget the day i was chilling in a local cafe and they where playing Love is a losing game; after rapture of that 2 1/2 min, i asked my friends who was that and got that look usually reserved for mentally retarded.
It couldn't connect for me, those two things - person papers where trying to "get across" and sensuality of that voice. This i choose to remember about Amy - rest is just... judgement. But people, voice like that you'll hear only once in a lifetime. Shame, such a shame for music in general...

best comment here.

to be honest, I don't know a single AW song - not one. don't know how I manage not to, but it seems I escaped well from radio airplay over the years.

She had an amazing voice, you should listen to some of her songs and try to put her public image out of your mind while you do.

I listened to some of her stuff in the car once -- it was pretty good, if I remember right.

I have been told she has, my best friend has her albums I believe so I will give them a go. what counts in the end is the voice and the song material; I don't care about all those scandals, drugs and whatever. may be I can discover something here - years delayed.
love is all.

I still remember the first time I ever heard her, it was when she just appeared on the radio and I was like "wow, that's a really different, soulful voice" and then I saw her face and it didn't match up for me. Maybe there would have been a Chems colab if she hadn't gone off the deep end.

I like Amy Winehouse's voice and there's nothing ordinary or meh about it. Her death was too soon but her voice was timeless. It's is a juxtaposition how the voice had so much soul but the person belting it out was a lost soul herself. It's a shame, there's nothing more to say. It is possible to love the singing but hate the scandal. And the stormy demise that followed it.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
