I watched The Dark Knight last night. It was a good, solid film much like Batman Begins. Who knew that a Brokeback bender could have played the Joker so well as I love Nicholson as the Joker in the original Batman. It's like Batman had a cameo role in The Dark Knight :p

I saw dark knight last night I was expecting it to be over hyped but i really enjoyed it and thought it was so much better than batman begins.

Also just watched funny games US with tim roth and noami watts - it's a good film although quite uncomfortable to watch in parts (apparently it's more or less scene for scene same as the german orginal)

I want to see Mamma Mia, too. I used to think the ABBA song was written just for me when I was a little girl. hehe. I know a lot of ABBA songs by default, my parents used to listen to them ages ago. It was their attempt at being hip.

I don't have anyone to see Mamma Mia with, though and I don't like going to the movies by myself. I wouldn't make my poor husband go. I think he'd rather have a root canal than be subjected to that Mamma Mia nonsense. Looks like I'll have to wait until it's out on DVD.

Mamma Mia was great! Ive been three times and still want to go again! The songs are just so fitting with the storyline, as if they were written for the film/musical. The actors really fit the bill too. I think Meryl Streep really makes it. I can't wait for the DVD!!

I just watched Mysterious Skin for the second time. I caught most of it on the Independent Film Channel while I was staying down in San Diego being trained at my firms Southern California branch. It's one of the saddest, most disturbing, most powerful films I've seen in quite some time. Chaotic energy, maligned events and homosexual pedophilia.

I just came back from Dark Knight for the 3rd time, and I like it more and more every time I see it. I cant help it, I'm obsessing with Joker. I hope I'm not going gay... not that there is anything wrong with that...

other movies I've seen lately:

'Colour Me Kubrick'

I rented this off iTunes. The few reviews given for it said it was pretty good, so I thought I would give it a try. Big mistake. I would describe it as Being John Malkovich meets The Talented Mr. Ripley. Sounds good but it turned out pretty bad. Story is about the guy who faked being Stanley Kubrick in the early 90's. Kubrick was still alive at that point but was kinda hidden from the public. Well, this Alan Conway (fake Kubrick aka John Malkovich) who happens to be gay and likes to dress in drag, starts taking advantage of the situation. Some funny gay puns are thrown around, and the soundtrack is pretty nostalgic with all the old tunes from the Kubrick classics playing in the backround, but it doesnt save the movie.

John Malkovich is so weird.

Finally, finally just saw The Dark Knight on IMAX. First time viewing.

-The pacing was -great-

-Heath Ledger was good, although it's questionable whether or not it's worthy of an academy award... (oops... "worthy"... the Academy nominations are often fickle and politicized...)

-The cinematography was some of the best I've seen for a film.

-It was disappointing the entire film wasn't shot in 70 mm, but the parts that were were absolutely amazing. To see a film take a major step into fully taking advantage of a three-story tall screen is awesome.

-There were so many elements that blended together so, so well; e.g. the elements of the comic, the attributes of humanity and questions of morality, the well-acted drama, the "grittiness" of reality thrown into the story, etc.

-This was some of the best editing I've seen in quite some time. The way all the simultaneous action was woven together was phenomenal.

-Aaron Eckhart - A+ in acting.

-The only thing right off that I can say with certainty that didn't work was Christian Bale's voice while he was Batman. It didn't sound right and seemed like it was digitally altered. Fail.

I think I read they did add some minor effects to his voice, but I think it's a thing that has to be done. He disguises his voice, like he does his face.

Just watched The Lost Boys :D It's like a vampire Goonies

I watched lara croft tomb raider last night as it was on bbc 3 and there was nothing really else on. It was pretty much as i expected it to be (plenty of action, rubbish story line). I liked the fact galaxy bounce was played when she was escaping from the tomb with the huskies though.

The only reason men watch that film is because of Jolies tight t-shirt, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I bought Batman & Robin on DVD on friday....
