and all those bands you cited as "real metal" are total crap and hardly worthy of being called metal.

I like Dimmu Borgir, dunno if they are considered metal or not. But I recommend them. Very unique sound, I guess they are more of a gothic style, I'm not really familiar with the style of music cause they are the only group I listen to in that sort of genre.

My closest contact with metal music is by Nine Inch Nails. However this is not metal music, but in lot of tracks we can hear hard guitar playing. I love NIN for specific industrial atmosphere. I dont like really metal music at all.

Well, if You would like to come closer to metal but You hate REALLY metal music than You should listen to NIN. I discover them a year ago. It has some powerfull guitars riffing, but not to much and songs are more epic and hmm....clever?? tracks, i'ts something like instrumental and industrial music. The Strafuckers track has even the breakbeat rhythm ;) Listen to THE FRAGILE from 1999 for the begining, You will be not disapointed, i swear ;)
