I heard about that. If I remember correctly from what I've read here the crowd weren't too thrilled with the Secret Machines as the opener which is a shame. I hope it wasn't something someone in the audience did to cause such an upheaval. I have a soft spot for opening bands, it's gotta be tough to be an opener when the crowd is amped to see the main act.

Got these bits from the Secret Machines forum. It's not gospel, but it's better than my blind speculation going on the negative things I read here and I apologize for that. It seems more of a tech difficulty that caused the flare-up. Poor guys, how frustrating for them! :

Here's the thread:

Here's some bits in case people don't want to read the thread:

The sound was really poor from the off, it just seemed really muffled, I suppose that's the problem with being the support band, Ben seemed to be having a problem with his guitar then half way through the 2nd song it cut out completely and they all walked off never to be seen again.....

Gutted about it, was really looking forward to seeing the machines again, fortunately the Chemical Brothers absolutely rocked, so it made up for it a bit.

...in the middle of the 2 tune i think is was Called sad and lonley one of them went off stage...

They stopped playing because a power outage/electrical fault burnt out their onstage equipment.

their album got me when i listened to them idependently from the fact the chems supported them. I was rather not surprised they did. I could imagine to be not such a bad opener . . . but didn't watch them live anyway so i can't gage that.

No, but I wasnt all that impressed with them live either, despite a good album. Secret Marchines was on the March tour and Cagedbaby in Dec.

Cadged baby seemed quite plain and average to me. In Brixton they didnt seem to create much energy.

I remember seeing the Secret Machines back in March last year, they were ok but then I can't remember a single one of their songs, just a crazy mass of hair playing drums!! ;-)
