Regarding letting the world know this is finished... *sigh* I would strongly advise flying under the radar for now, and not doing anything that would potentially draw the ire of the music label. So devoting a FB page to furtherremixed is definitely not advisable, I'm afraid. This project consists of music and images that might be considered as bordering on copyright infringement - although furtherremixed is not for profit and it states on the app this isn't official Chems and whatnot, it still might raise some eyebrows.

hm, it is strictly non-commercial, there is a respective disclaimer, so speaking as a lawyer, I cannot really see a copyright infringement here...

My remix of Don't Think.

still needs a lot of work, especially on the vocoder part. what do you think?

Downtempo! That was unexpected!
I liked it but I don't think you can hear enough of the original in it.

Hunting for Gypster: Does anyone here have an Xbox Live account? I don't have one, but Gypster's tag is Jamal Chang, so can someone contact him that way?

Ah - that is good to know.

My main concern is I don't want anyone here to get in trouble or be the cause of any issues, which is why I think discretion is advisable - because ultimately we don't know how the label would feel about something like this.

Well there wasn't any problem with Flip The Switch as far as I know.

I agree with you but I'd really be surprised if the label took action - considering they do not even take action to ban certain bootleg "best ofs" from eBay which definitely constitute a copyright infringement. we need to make sure no such remix CD is being ripped and then offered on eBay, that would withdraw the non-commercial character and in such a case they might get nervous, even though I don't think for reasons I have just mentioned.

I just had an idea for promoting the album - you guys remember Hubie right? He doesn't post here too much but I know occasionally he does an all Chemical Brothers show on the 2hr radio show he has, he did one last year around this time to celebrate the release of Further: http://forum.thechem...l-bros-special/

Anyway, my idea is that he could do a Chemical Brothers Remix show. For the first hour or so, play some of the best Chemical Brothers remixes, like Out Of Control (Sasha Remix), The Golden Path (Ewan Pearson Remix), Block Rockin Beats (The Micronauts Remix), Leave Home (Underworld Remix 1 or 2), to name a few.

Then for the last hour, play the mixed version of FurtherRemixed in full. It would be a great way to get a bunch of people to hear the album. I'm contacting him to see if he's interested.

My concern is that I ripped some of the DVD to do the intro, which is pretty obvious. And copyright did concern me when I did it, but no one said anything. I think even using their logo without permission would be a breach of some law. If it was going to upset management, I think we would have heard by now.

once again, as longs as copyright protected items are strictly (!) not being used for commercial purposes, we should be on the safe side. in that context I had far more worries as to the australian music video night we have had. if even that went well this little fan project should not constitute a problem.

You mean where they played a bunch of video clips in the cinema? The organizer paid EMI a heap of money for the rights to play them. He lost out big time. I suspect that is why his next show hasn't eventuated. Massive amounts of red tape too from what I heard.

I did not know he was playing licence fees but obviously that was what should have happened. A shame it did not pay in the end.

nice!

I'm done with the mixing, except for Wonders Of The Deep of course. It's simple. Here's what I got: http://www.mediafire...22bpisggx8vyc8r

IMO some of the transitions need improvement (like AW-> Dissolve & HP-> Swoon), but it's the best that I can do.

You can probably do a lot better than I can, the menu loop for the website you did was really smooth, so any help here would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I'm leaving home for about five days starting tomorrow, I won't have my computer on me but I should be able to check in from time to time.

it would be really cool if someone could do a Wonders Of The Deep Remix by Friday.

Otherwise our only options will be this:

or my rework of Czar's rework, and I don't want to be on there twice:
http://soundcloud.com/white-noise-3/wonders-of-the-deep-czar-whitenoise-rework

I'm giving up on Gypster. He hasn't logged in since the 14th, it's obvious he has cold feet or no longer wants to be a part of this project, which is really a shame. I sent him one last message, maybe he'll come back. But I'm not waiting any longer. So by the 9th, we will have a Wonders remix one way or another.

Here's what's going on: I'm going out of country friday night at midnight, and I will not be back for an entire week (going on a missions trip). It's a total crapshoot, but I would love to finish this album before I leave.

I'm waiting on D.Edwards, he says he can send me the FL Studio file for his remix so I can rework it and make it better for the album. In the meantime he sent me a longer and slightly better version: http://www22.zippysh...54137/file.html

By friday night we will have a complete album, whether it's with Czar rework, the D.Edwards remix, or by some amazing magic Gypster's remix, it's gonna finally be finished.
