i always wonder what kinda jokers spend the entire concerts holding up a mobile ph trying to capture absolutely nothing of the actual live experience while they shit all over theirs. Or maybe they never are real fans in the first place - I can understand shooting a small clip or two (I wouldn't even do that), but hell I see these blokes holding their cameras up for the whole concert infront of u at any gig u go to now. Dammit, u'r in the wrong profession.

Well, I am very tired now - but WOW - the Roundhouse was great! The gig didn't start until about an hour late because of a fire alarm and we all had to evacuate the building, but when it got going - bloody hell!
And they did an overlay of the blips from Three Little Birdies Down Beats over Out of Control!
Put some pictures up: http://qmul.facebook...5e&id=707590111
Everyone should be able to view that - Facebook or not...

fair play to them, I started to think it would be cancelled and a mini riot was going to start outside. Got back in a little grumpy but once the Chemical Brothers came on everyone soon forgot and were blown away. Awesome gig, just made the last tube home and can't wait to see them at Glastonbury. A big thumbs down to seetickets and the roundhouse staff for lack of communication.

Ok.
I am back in the Dam after 30 hours of no sleep , partying , sleeping on the airport and going to the most amazing gig Tom and Ed have ever done.
People i cannot even start to explain how good this gig was. Tilburg was already awesome but this... there are simply no words for it.
Now I NEED SLEEP, take of my smelly clothes and shower , have food and order all my chaotic thoughts-
AND than i have a LOT to tell you guys.
Need....sleep....now!!!
Oh one more thing.
FUCK!!! FUCK MAN!!!!

Ok boys and Girls
People i feel this will be a monsterpost , but if you dont like it , well , to bad ;)
In fact , this will prob be the biggest post ever made on this board :p
Let me eat my Mozarella Pizza while i type this.
There might be some tomato sauce on my keyboard when i am done typing!
Hmmm this pizza is so jummm! Is the first thing i am eating - i was to tired when i got home at 11 am to even make a sandwich!
I need to re-gain my strenghts. Never in my life have i been as tired as i was this morning , waiting to board my flight with Joslyn at Heathrow Airport.
The trying to stay awake in the airport , the 1.5 hour night bus ride , the stomach pain due to lack of sleep , the soar back and neck , the smelly clothes , i would do it all again tomorrow if that means i can see this incredible gig one more time!
Everything was so bizar - Esp today. When you dont sleep for a LONG time youre mind gets a bit weird.
As i was lying in my bed at noon , with my windows open , hearing the kids play outside and the sun shining and cars coming by , i felt so weird. Its like as if i was part of something that this people have no idea of. Like i said , when you dont sleep for a long time you get a bit melodramatic. Not that i'm not that already anyway ;)
People seriously. This is the 8th time ive seen them live. After every gig i think "they cannot top this one!" but....
This is by far the BEST gig ive ever seen them do. I'm sure some of you remember my reviews from Brixton - i dont think that experience could ever be topped , cause those were the best hours of my life, but what happened last night in the Roundhouse was incredible.
Its not just a gig - mucisians playing their music to an audience - its. How can i say it. Its an experience. Its a trip. Its like all the goodness in the world is in one venue. Everywhere are hugging people , friends , strangers hugging eachother , people sharing their drinks with people they have never met before , dilated puppils everywhere ( I was completely sober , and no drugs will EVER top the experience that i had last night ). Its just such a beautifull thing you know. Everybody is one big group of friends , everybody parties with eachother , strangers come up to u and say "THAT WAS THE BEST THING IVE EVER SEEN!"
A Chems gig isn't just a gig , its an experience , and after the experience , you get the Chemical Afterglow =)
I am in TOTAL Chemical Afterglow mode.
Ive been a bit down lately , and i just needed to totally let go!
So , Me ans Joslyn arrived around 2 Local time. We had a 2 hour delay for our flight but it was all good! Nothing was gonna ruin our adventure!
First we went to the west-end HMV ( We dont have HMV in Holland ) and than we had a stroll around one of the best places in the world of you are a girl and like to shop - Camden Market. I couldnt resist a pair of vintage suede red boots and a dress! After some good food we went to the venue were we met up with Acid and his mates Ps Jim if u read this - to bad we didn't see u anymore! Hope u enjoyed the gig! After meeting up with Mips and Chebbers and Chebebrs girl Charlie ( I was so happy because i didn't see them since NYE!! ) , and also two fairly new posters of this board Ford and APumpkin and his lovely sister ( They recognized me from the board! The world is so small! ) we were ready for the gig!
BUT!! What happened as we were getting our drinks !? The fire alarm went off! HAHA! At first we didnt even hear it it was not very loud.
So there we all stood outside the venue. It was fun for about 30 mins when you can see the funny side of it , but than i got cold and worried that the show was cancelled!
When the doors opened again after 1.5 hours , everybody cheered and RAN inside , where Justin was playing some wicked tuneage.
You would expect , if people wait for 1.5 hours outside , that everybody would be a bit moody , but that was not the case! In fact , eeverybody was SO bang up for it , you could feel the anticipation in the air!
When the lights turned off , everybody cheered and you could feel that there was something magical about to happen! At this point i had loast half of my crew , but at a Chems gig its one big group of friends , so it was all good.
The intro comes on. There's no path to follooohoooow.
The anticipation man! The anticipation! Its like , i get nervous , u know !? I get really quiet and i feel like i'm waiting for the E rush to come up! I dont wanna compare going to a Chems gig to taking E - but in a way its very similar
The great thing about the crowd at this gig was was that most of them were older than me - i would say Tom and Ed's age. The people that stuck with them since EPD. People that really love everthing they do. There were people dancing around me , totally lost in the music , that mustve been around 50 years old! I think that is amazing - the Chems music IS very time-less.And this is also one of the factors that made this gig so special - the audience.
The audience in Holland just sucks. Mind you - i am Dutch myself - but if i go totally beserk , in England they just go beserk with you , in Holland they look at you with a raised eyebrow. There were moments yesterday that i was so lost in the music that i couldnt even jump , i could just only stand there with my eyes closed and the biggest grin on my face. And nobody gives a shit what you do or how you look like. Everybody understand that you are lost in the music. People come and give u a hug , even. In Holland , this is so different, and it sucks i think. I go to London to see the Chems gig for a reason , and the reason is that the crowd is the most lovely crowd ever.
ENGLAND , I LOVE YOU!!!
Anyway , i already typed so much and we are only still listening to the intro!
I already gave my song to song review earlier - what i will always remember most from this gig are not the actuall songs , but more the overall feeling and what it does to me.
When Galvanize came on , the venue EXPLODED. You could just feel the ground shaking. 2000 hands in the air. Smiling faces. People yell and scream and jump as high as they can , singing on top of their longs "MY FINGER! IS ON THE BUTTON!" BOOMBOOMBOOM "THE TIME HAS COME TO"Pfiew pfiew pfiew pfiew pfiew pfiew pfiew pfiew "GALVANIZE!" TU! TU! TU! Oh jezus i cannot explain how good that is. When everything just explodes. The Boom. I am OBSESSED with that moment when the beat comes in and people just loose it. I LIVE for that moment of all the hands in the air. Its so beautiful.
Burst Generator. Its like a plain coming over you man. This song , jezus christ. At this moment i just felt. I dont know. Overwhelmed , i guess.
Its weird cause - well , the Chems are not the only good mucisians out there. But what they do to the crowd is just....its unlike any other artist!
The highlights , music wise , were.
THE WHOLE FRIGGING CONCERT !!!!!!
Like i said - for me this gig was all about the overal feeling and emotions. Thats what i feel when i look back at it.
But some musical highlights i have to point out.
HBHG- This tune still gets SUCH a massive reaction from the crowd. when they hear those synhs rising up from the undergoud , and people start to recognize it , and all the hands go up in the air , and 2000 peole yelling " HERE WE GO!" And yes there we go!!! BOOM BOOM BOOM aaaaah shit man.
Saturate - This time i was almost totally in the back of the venue and i have to say , visual wise its better! Because now i got to see the Saturate visuals in its full glory!
I LOVE!!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEE this visuals i want to make sexy time with the visuals! HAHA  Its so clever , and than when the paintballs explode , OH its so beautifull , its almost as if the paint will come over you!
And the robots! The robots oh shit i LOVE the robots SO much- They have more and even wicked-er ( yeah i am making up words , u think its easy to type this whole thing in english eh ?! Well actually its not that hard but anyway. ) the robots , they way they are projected , its like they are marching towards you. I think the robots are the BEST visual of the whole concert. And from Saturate. Oh but also the animals!!
All the animals , and when the bugs crawl really fast over the screen and they have a massive wall of sound coming over you. Damn its so amazing. The horses are back , and the monkeys!! Oeh Oeh - do the monkey!
Believe will always be one of my faveorite parts in the set. That build up is just sick. That build up - Tom and Ed u are ... GODS! Hahahahahaha! No normal people can make an audience go so crazy. They work their magic on stage , sounds and arrangements and melodies that once only excited in their minds , and that now make 2000 people jump and dance and go crazy. Its a wonderfull thing it really is!!
Oh and Star Guitar. For everybody who wanted this out of the set - it's still in there and its better than ever. This songs is very special to me. When i heard it...well actualy , i had this at several moments troughout the set....jeez. I just , drifted off somewhere. There was only me and the music. I felt like laughing and crying and jumping and singing and dancing all at the same time. But sometimes i could just stand there , and just feel the music , with my eyes closed , and at a moment like that. its like a religous experience man , nothing else matters just you and the music , the music takes you somewhere else , and you realise 5 minutes later that you were not really in this world anymore. Seriously , i made sounds during this gig that i usually only make while ehm - doing other , more intimate activities hahahaha  I could not even scream and yell and cheer anymore , i could only just kind off moan! And i know Whirls knows exactly what i am talking about  Nice to know youre not the only one , eh ?!
I dont wanna seem to freaky here but a Chems gig really is like really good sex where you can totally loose yourself in it.
Boys - hold you're comments ;)
The Golden Path! FOR FUCKS SAKE!!! HOW CAN PEOPLE NOT LIKE THIS SONG?! ITS GENIUS!!!
Pleaaaaaaaaaaase forgive me! I was singing this as if i really wanted Tom and Ed to forgive me that i got a rip of their new album hahaha.
Oh all the dancing people around you. All the smiling faces. Young faces , old faces , sober faces , fucked up faces , but all so into the music. The crowd bouncing up and down like a blanket of hands in the air - its as if you are all one , everybody gets infected by the person next to them.
Oh ALL RIGHTS REVERSED! I am repeating myself here cause i already wrote this at the Tilburg review , BUT THAT BEAT IS SO HOT! Oh!
AND CHEMICAL BEATS!!!
At this moment i just lost it. Everybody lost it. I was in the back and even the people behind the bar lost it. The people on the balcony. EVRYBODY just went crazy. Oh my lovely forum nerds i could stay in that moment forever! I didnt even dance anymore , i just got spastic! I just let my body take over! Chemical Beats is like...wow. Just WOOHOOHOOOOOW!!!
Ooooooh and WE ARE THE NIGHT! The great thing is , when it starts off u dont really know what song it is. It has a really long build up. And the visuals with it are SO trippy. Youre in the tunnel you know , those ones. Oh this tune is so beautiful.
Das Speigel also sounds VERY good live. VERY VERY good. Its so beautiful this song.
The last song. Sunshine Underground. So warm , so beautiful , everybody is not in London anymore but somehwere in a field with lots of nice flowers and trees and the sun is shining and its all a bit dusty and lazy sunday afternoon. Until the drums come in , that is. What scared me most about myself is that i know exactly EVERY drum in it HAHAHA  This tune - u know its the last one , and you give all you have and you know its gonna be over soon!
Oh my god it was so beautiful. The whole gig was so beautiful. It was still hard , but it was also very beautiful.
OH and how can i forget the amazing surface2air. I really felt what it did to me March 18 2005 - that song is SO special to me , and i thought back of that moment , i didnt cry this time ( altho i did had a big lump in my troat when the gig was over and i hugged all the people i was with! )
Oh yes that is also so beautiful. After the gig , you see everybody hugging eachother. Its like "We all experienced this togheter!".
Well i can go on and on about how amazing the gig was.
But i cannot explain what happened to me. I have never been this lost in the music. The Chems are very special to me as their music helped me trough a lot of stuff in my life , and as their music has always accompanied me wherever i travelled , and to see all of those amazing thinsg i experienced with the Chems music live , at full power , is like a 2 hour compilation of my life. This is not just a gig , this is therapy. There is NO way you can feel bad after a Chems gig.
Oh BTW- Not to be big for my boots but SO many people complimented me on my dreads! I am so happy!
And Stash - apparently you and i are the legends of the board according to the company who made this board.
I met this guy ( Not Legsakimbo ) how came up to me " Are you Jeanie?! " ( He was the 3rd one of the evening! Hahaha! Its a bit scary that random people know me of the Chems website ) so i was like "Yeah" . Apparently , the company had a bed with this person that if he would ever meet me if i would kiss him or not because i am , according to them , the hottest girl of the board! Hahahaha. I politley told the guy that he wouldnt stand a change. Danny , it was nice to meet you , but u guys in the company really need to seek a hobby other than looking at random girls on the interweb  And i was asked if Stash was there because "He is also a Legend in our company"
Such a weird 24 hours. Met so many people who know me from the website , thats so bizar. Met so many amazing people. Ive never been so lost in the music.
Ed , Tom , thanks for all the wonderfull things you do!
I wish you guys could experience a gig of yourself once - as if u wouldnt have made the tunes yourself.
I dont think u guys can ever realise what happends down there in the audience. yeah , you see it , but the feeling in there , all the nice people , all the love , only you guys can make that happen!
Love to you both for always making youre gigs the best hours of my life - love to all who where there and who i partied with , and love to all the forummembers!
OH , i also have some movies - i will post them when i figured out how that all works ;)
LOVE IS ALL.
