you're really being a ?pink flower?-sandwich... if you want something that sounds like loops of fury listen to crystal method, their career is essentially ripping off that sound

A pink flower sandwich, wtf dude??? :?

And nobody does it better than the chems themselves.

Although you guys should consider doing a similar tune like Weapons of Mass Distortion, that tune rocked!

Just remember: minimal = pink flower music.

erm....if you think that then why are you here?!!!!! and paying money to go to the gig in the dam....dude you better hope i dont smoke some of that hydroponic poo when im there, cause that poo make me wanna cave heads in!....well cave c.u.n.t.s heads in.....which you undoubtedly are....

I can take you anytime, dopey.

Nuthin' wrong with a bit of critisism. There has to be put an end to all this asskissing. There are too many folks around here like you who don't even dare to speak their mind about chems stuff (frightened as they are to insult the mighty chems), but just give a general response like: oooooh Ed & Tom, your so wonderful ooooh I luuuuuuv EBW 8 & 9 ooooh everything you guys do is sooooooo fabulous!!!! Come on, they are musicians ffs, they can handle a little bit of critisism!! I don't like EBW 8 and 9. They are average records. Here, I said it. Not so hard. You should try it once in a while dopey. Might even get you off the dope.

If you had been reading carefully on this forum you might have noticed that criticism was placed more than once here at least when i'm thinking of myself, dude. Plus, I can't see any asskissing folks around here who are weak-willed puppets unable to express their true thoughts. But you are a troll that seems to have fun only when spreading insults and pointless blamings using every situation to shed and spread negative atmosphere. You''re undifferentiated and non-constructive!

Fact is, EBW 8 blew me away on first listen. It has that euphoric sound I associate with Surface to Air and Spring. I was a little underwhelmed by EBW 9 from the radio rip but once I got my vinyl I fell in love with it and see its potential both live and in a club. Massive, evil tune.

I don't love all the Chems tracks (Swiper comes to mind), but really respect what they do and want to give them positive but honest feedback when the opportunity arises.

The problem is, Slipvin, not that you dislike some of their recent work or that you tell them that to their "faces" so much as you act like a giant c.ock about it. Especially when they take the time to come let us know about news or chat after gigs, the least you could do is be polite with your criticism and not bring it up in every post you direct at them.

pretty much yeah..

man I love slipvin's timing.. every time, it seems, Ed appears!

and I'm curious as to what is meant by a move to the Bloc Party sound? I don't hear it at all... especially not in 9! Unless by which you discuss the squelchy synths and sirens which the Bloc added for the new album (sparsely though). In 8 -- maybe the drums? but Bloc Party isn't *funky* like that, more hard. The structure is totally different likewise; Bloc Party still opts for Straight Up Punk With A Twist while the Chemical Brothers seem to experimenting with a Schumann-like approach. This new direction is likely fuelled by frustration of performing, writing, and listening as musicians for as long as they have. Industry inspires as well. Once foresight lightens blindness to the act of resting on one's laurels (Not to condemn, please do not misunderstand!) fear of inadequacy...

therefore change essentially -- I am in no mood for a more lengthy discussion... sorry.

and sorry to those whom I've bored with the above
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

oooooh Ed & Tom, your so wonderful ooooh I luuuuuuv EBW 8 & 9 ooooh everything you guys do is sooooooo fabulous!!!!

Honestly, I've prolly missed out on a max 3-4 songs (Sniper being one) of the Chems material since I can't source everything, and i'm not much of a downloading guy unless it's staring me in the face, but yes, I absolutely love every song ever written by the Chems. It's weird - I can't seem to find any problem with any album or song.

Ok more honestly, I didn't fall for 9 as much like I've said before - even on vinyl just the crazy insane take off is mostly what I hear and then turn it off - I'm sure I might come around to it someday if I ever get to hear it in a dark dirty club - it really doesn't do much for me as a track - but then it's a single/ dance floor song so not much complaints there.

On 8 - well I've wasted days at end ranting bout it on the original ebw8/9 thread. Absolutely love it - I just hope I get to see it live someday.

Oh you guys can you please stop all this hate and angryness. Peace and love all around. I too think Slipvin could choose his words a bit better but if thats the guys opinion than whatever. Ignore it , like i do. Anyways.

Ed what a tease - its like that gig in Brix last year when this microphone came on stage and we all wonder who the hell it was for! Now we all have to wonder again whho this great person you speak off is X-D Thanks for the heads up! We are all just as excited as you guys are.

Now , on the ebw 8 / 9 matter.

I PERSONALY think they are fucking great. That also has to do with some nostalgia behind it - how can i EVER forget that evening in December , on this board , all tuned in to Radio 1 and hearing those tunes for the first time ?! That was amazing! They both really blew me away from the first moment. 8 just gave me this euphoric feeling , this " Ooooh Tom and Ed did it again! " just this on top of the world kinda feeling , those massive drums , those synths , that build up that just keeps on building up. 9..... }:-) I loved 9 from the first moment but 8 was my favorite. 9 is just so twisted and demented , so freaky and evil and dark and sexy! U know what i mean! But than i heard it at NYE....and...fuck....i cannot explain it! It was so powerfull that beat TUM TUM TUM TUMTUM its so fucking great HALLELUJA! So yeah since NYE my love for those tracks is bigger than ever. I think they are fantastic.

Now what is what all that putting it in a box stuff ?! I thought one of the reasons why we love the Chems is ebcause they do stuff that nobody else does. Because they take all this different style of music and , as Norman says , f uck it right up the ass! For everybody who says Chems gone minimal or whatever you label it as , name me ONE song that sounds like ebw 8 and 9. You cant! because it's so unlike anyhting else!

Bloc party ?! I love Bloc party SO much their a great band but i dont see the comparing between Bloc Party and the Chems. I mean they are both very expirimental in ways and the feeling the music gives me is similar , but i dont see how music wise they are connected.

Anyway , i think 8 and 9 are brilliant. NOT because i am a fan of their music and i like everything they make ( There's some songs i hardly ever listen too!) but just because i think they are.....MASSIVE!

Slipvin , i'm not trying to make you change youre mind , BUT , if you hear those tunes in a club on a massive soundsystem ( being of youre face does add up to the WOOOOW factor ) , i can tell you now , you will come back on this board an apologize for all the negative things you said about those songs ;)

Oh and Brian so u deffo coming to the dam than yeah ?!

I'm so happy ! Meet up in MY CITY! I'm soooo excited guys , i feel like you all come to visit ME in a way! Hahaha love all around!

Ah even now so i am in the internet cafe lsitening to 9 and i get that NYE feeling totally back! All of us in the backroom , shockinly off our faces , and than the sire comes of 9 , and we all freak out oooooh making calculations of the jedi sensations HAHA!And than that BEAT! the club went off! all of us in the backroom of holy moly i almsot needed to sit down!!!!!!!!!! That backroom was great , it was the best moment when i went from the crowded main room to the backroom and i found all my friends dancing there! Oh mates i can still feel the amazingness of this evening! Lucious Lucy totaly loosing it to ebw 3 ! Wicked girl :D aaah okay i jsut needed to share some nye excitement.
