Well I have to stand up and say I was wrong about Brazil winning it.Just seen them beaten by the Dutch and even though I had a small wager on Brazil before the tournament started I have to admit that they didnt deserve to win today.Despite starting well and leading 1-0 at ht what followed in the second half was a total loss of self discipline once the Dutch equalised.The stamp by Melo was a disgrace and it just seemed that they couldnt cope mentally with losing the game and lost their heads and gave away so many stupid fouls.Congrats to Holland.

No they were probably mostly French with Spanish origins but I was surprised anyway. I wasn't expecting the whole avenue to be that crowded with Spanish. It's like Algeria was in the finals, but with a different flag (and less violence)

I'm sad for Holland. But this game was not really great. Way too many fouls, they were too agressive. And this referee was not the best choice for a world cup final imo...

I went into the game backing the Dutch but came out very glad that Spain won. I didn't care for the play of the Netherlands, and it was a sloppy final overall.
@Ben_j - I think the players made it a particularly difficult day for the ref. I thought the "falcon kick" probably deserved a red, but he would have gotten a lot of bad press giving Spain the man advantage at the 30' mark.

Congratulations to Spain, the best team won against an uncompromising (to say the least) Dutch team. I thought Howard Webb the ref did ok, it could've easily gone the other way with him sending a load of players off - it was a difficult game to referee! Or maybe I'm just sticking up for a fellow Yorkshireman
