Halifax? I don't think there are enough people in Halifax with jobs to fill a Chems gig.

I don't think there are enough people, period, in St. John's to fill a gig. And on top of that, they're Newfies! 8O

Hmm there's only been 1,000,000 posts like this before and they all ended up the same way...

I think a more effective way to get the chems to come play your area is not to write an open letter on this forum, but to get your friends, coworkers, and radio stations to get interested into the chems (see the post "What have you done for Tom and Ed today?"). Their touring agent(s) probably does research on the areas prior to sending the tour that way or whether there has been success in the past (like coachella, glastonbury, lollipop fests in the 90's, etc.) The more people that buy their albums (aka not just downloading second hand copies, but owning physical copies) and getting others to do the same is probably the best way to go. It's all really a popularity contest.

Awww well.... We thought we'd try to sort it out anyway, and I'm begging on the boards!!! I'm not too proud... I love em and we were trying to whateva we could just to get em to look our way.... Crosses his fingers... I know there larger than life... My friend took them on the Canadian 'Come With Us' tour and I actually had the opportunity to meet em.... I am a dreamer, and I am a talent buyer for a small company with a large network of like minds, but I like to think outside the circle hoping that anything is possible....

It's alright to dream and we pretty sure their to rich for our blood... Too bad though as they would have one hell of a time... They could ask Ali B, The Crystal Method, Nick Warren, Tall Paul, Anne Savage, Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez, Nic Fanciulli, Green Velvet, Derrick Carter, John Kelly, etc. We took good care of them and they got to see all of Canada... It was a helluvah a good time, and it was the experience not the big cash that was appealing to all those artists!!!! It's not like we'd sell the Chem's short on fees and they'd be well taken care of...

Maybe someday,

You know, there's never any harm in asking. Even if it's a long shot, you never know til you pop the question.

Well Money Shot Baby, you seem to have a great attitude. I hope one day your dream of getting the Chems to come to Canada and being their personal tourguide comes true. :)

Nice sig, speaking of which. Glad to see Sublime fans here (they're like the rolling stones (prior to over doing it) for california)

Yes, nice choice. Sublime were great! 40 oz To Freedom is one of those albums that screams summertime. Self titled is equally as good. Wish I had gotten the chance to see them live. They were a jam band, but not a typical jam band. What I Got endured got heavy rotation where I am, and despite it being played out so much it's just one of those songs (to me) that I never tired of hearing.

I remember seeing this thing on VH-1 about Sublime a couple years ago. It's a shame what happened with the lead singer and I remember when he died. It was a shock but still not surprising because it was known he was battling the uphill battle with heroin - he just couldn't beat his demons. He left behind a beautiful family and a career that was on the brink of being unbelievably massive.
