Hahaha, the LSD comment is perfect. They do sound a bit like Tame Impala (not a bad thing) but I seem to enjoy Temples a bit more as their sound feels a bit warmer to me.It's no surprise a seasoned band like Primal Scream blew em out of the water, though. I got a lucky chance to see them in Los Angeles... Jesus... it was over 10 years ago! It was when they were supporting XTRMNTR. It was doubly cool since Mani was playing with them, and I didn't get to see Stone Roses during their heyday nor did I get to see Primal Scream until that point. But geeze. What a celeb hipster scene that was. I bumped into Tom Cruise, saw Billy Idol playing air guitar as he sat intently in the VIP section watching the Primals' every move, and last but not least I stole Rod Stewart's fork as everyone was bailing post-show. LOL. Fun night.
Speaking of the Scream I've revisited there latest album cause it didn't really grab me the first time around. l like them so had to give it another go and really like the song 2013 quite a grower and moving with the lyrics and metaphorical video. Culturecide also reminds me of an XTMNTR track without the synths but more soul/gospel edge.

Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

It's one of those songs that seems to divide people. I think it sounds like sinister Roxy Music. In a good way. They had a live sax player both times I saw them last year and I thought it sounded great live. I think this is what you were trying to do.
