I think it's time to add another member as a mod. Whirls does a great job, but the extra coverage would help in those times when she is unable to get here (as we have seen recently). If this idea does float, I'd suggest one of the European or Aussie members (or both) to cover us globally. That or EMI can bump up forum security

I would be all for having another person help with modding. I cannot possibly be here 24/7 unfortunately and it pains me to see our little corner of the interwebs fall into disarray. The decision to bring in extra troops to help is not mine though. It is the admin's. Before bringing in another mod, security needs to be adressed and that is only something that can be done by an admin I'm afraid. Don't know what EMI could do with security. The only time I saw them personally intervene in forum affairs is when they outsourced mods to this forum right before Further was released to make sure I was doing my job and there was no monkey business with leaks/'illegal' links being posted in my absence.

I'd be happy to help, I work at my PC all day just about every day. But I wouldn't know how to prove myself trustworthy to the admin.

Yes it does, he had this interesting post about people going "power mad" over being a mod and editing everything to their whims sometime back. I hope it wasn't entirely serious, it didn't seem like it, but still.

Oh I was very serious. Internet people like us rarely get into the position of power in real life because we're too busy on the Internet looking at pics of cats. When someone becomes powerful on the Internet they can't handle it and go mental! I've seen it happen, it's not a pretty sight :(

I'm a moderator on the Daft Punk forum and I have to say it's gone swimmingly. Then again that place is about as great as a forum can get, nothing like this hellhole.

I did then again experience several technical points the use of this website, as I experienced to reload the site a lot of instances prior to I could get it to load correctly. I have been puzzling over if your hosting is OK? Now not that I am complaining, however slow loading circumstances times will often impact your placement in google and can injury your high quality ranking if ads and ***********|advertising|advertising|advertising and *********** with Adwords. Well I am including this RSS to my e-mail and could look out for much extra of your respective intriguing content. Make sure you update this once more very soon.. wish you luck

I appreciate raising your hand! :))

But I do feel (and just throwing it out there because, well, why not) it is not just a matter of having another mod. There ought to be an admin presence that is accessible and available to ensure this forum is secure and to help out with things here that have fallen into disarray. When it is slow it is not necessary to have a bunch of people policing the site. When it is busy with upcoming album releases, having an extra pair of eyes on the forum would be great and very much welcome. Not label-appointed mods like when Further was released, but already existing members who are established. But as far as security is concerned this forum has been sorely lacking in that aspect over the years. Mods can clen upbut they don't have the ability to prevent and It is not good when the site is busy because we are being attacked by spambots.

Just an FYI in case anyone is wondering.. In a call for help I had to contact Errol, who then had to contact the site developers to help with spam. That should just... That would not have been an issue if there would have been an admin presence. Errol has better things to do and so do the site developers! I think between the lot of us, the pickings are ripe for an admin who would be good for this forum.

Spam wise, I was told security with registration has been beefed up but there may still be sleeper accounts that will post spam. I believe that is what we have been seeing in the past couple of days. Spam is still bad but not quite as horrible as it was a week ago.

You guys are always awesome and patient and understanding when we are under attack. Always have been. Please don't think that goes unnoticed or unappreciated. <3

Yeah, lately it isn't ideal around here. It is sadly offputting. Most likely won't see a whole lot of change (if any) until the next album. Same story, different year...
