I work at one in Southern California (obviously) and there's only one in town for a few miles, but if I told the forum which one it would be like giving out my physical home address.
Not that I'm expecting stalkers or anything but maybe it's not a great idea to be giving out my exact place of work on the internet. ;)
Let's just say it's a massive WOW! store (no joke, that's what it's called), and it's connected to a Good Guys - which is a store that sells stereos and tv's. Shitty and confusing concept for the customer imo. Wish it was just a record store and not a record store sharing the same building as Good Guys.
I do like indie record shops too, or very small chains - especially like the ones that sell used product. Back in the day, Tower ran a bunch of those indie stores into the ground...

Well, turns out I didn't do as poorly as I thought on my Biology exam: I got a B+, which leaves me with a B+ for the course. I wanted an A, but after how bad I thought I'd done, a B+ is just fine.
Aced my Hebrew Scriptures exam yesterday morning, then bombed my Chemistry exam. I got an A on the multiple choice portion, but almost certainly failed the free-response portion. Probably have to settle for a B in the course.
At least school is now completely done, and I went out last night to celebrate. I don't remember several hours of last night and I apparently spent $60 on booze, because my wallet was empty when I looked in it this morning. Ugh....
Also, I bought a Sony 512 MB mp3 player today. Very nice.

With your new mp3 player, it sounds like you're ready for your journey west!
As for today, nothing interesting happened except a very old, fragile little man with a touch of Alzheimers came into the store. He'd *just* heard about the cd format, and was curious to see what they looked like. He sat there at the front counter examining a cd, putting his little wrinkled finger into the hole and babbling about how marvelous an invention it was - for about 10 minutes.
It was actually kind of cute. But also a little bit sad. It was obvious the poor little old man was just lonely...

Well everything in my life just took a turn for the dramatic and dismal.
Things aren't looking too good for my grandfather...
god damn god.
My advance condolences, Whirly. Hopefully things will turn back around for him. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks.
He's 93 years old, and very stubborn and has gotten through other minor complications.
This time it's much more serious, the whole family is expected to be there.
My son lost my mom's mother last year, and it looks like my son will be losing my dad's father this time around. It's never an easy thing, at any age.
Time is something I wish we all had more of.
Sorry for making a bummer out of this thread...

Sorry to hear that Whirly :( You always seem to be such a happy person , it sucks to see that you are down !!! I kind off know what you're going trough.I lived with my grandma for 15 years with my mun and brother and she passed away last year in januari. It's always hard to loose someone , although you know it's better this way , no more pain , no more suffering....but still. Losing somebody has a big impact on your life , especially when you're waking up every morning not knowing if that person will still be alive. It's a struggle , but eventualy you will know that's it will be better for everyone of you. For hime to be free of the pain and sorrow but also forn you , cause you know your grandfather is in a place now where he can rest.
Good luck with it Whirly , hopefully things get better but if not , DOn't let it take away your Coachella spirit , and remember we are all thinkin of yah ;)
