Turnmills kicks off the New Year with a traditional FREE PARTY on Saturday 7th January featuring some of the DJ/Producers we?re tipping for big things in 2006. Last year?s equivalent session was an absolute roadblock, as Turnmills partied (long and hard!)? whilst the rest of clubland slept.
This year?s bash looks set to continue that trend as the main room plays out the big room house sounds, before culminating in the big techno finale. The night gets going with an early warm up from Chris Rayner, followed by Mooch!n resident Lee Jarvis and his trademark tough but still funky electro-tinged house grooves. Next up will be Playtime star Big Daddy G, who?s already one of the capital?s favourite spinners. The G man has been creating a massive buzz for the past for years and he?ll be bringing his jackin? tech-house beats to the club, before handing over the headphones to Godskitchen regular and Punkrok member Jimmy Hill. With his tough and pumpin' big room house it?s no wonder Steve Lawler is a big fan of his productions and not surprisingly he?s itching to get his hands on the main room system and show London what he?s all about!! The final set of the night is played out by Jon Rundell - a new name on the techno scene. By day Jon is the label manager for Carl Cox?s Intec Records and by night his upfront techno spice is winning him fans all over the gaff.
Over in T2, it?s all about the electro house ? headlined by Tommy Four Seven, one of the hottest properties in London right now. Aged just 18, he?s already signed to David Duriez?s Brique Rouge label as well as being resident at cult after party Twist. Tommy will be joined by Jonty Skrufff with his unique electro-disco-rock vibe. As well as running the infamous Skrufff club culture e-zine and website, Jonty?s services as a DJ are much in demand where he?s brought his sound to clubs in Hong Kong, Ukraine, Germany and Brazil in recent months alone. Also on the bill are tow of the capital?s leading female talents ? SophieDJ and Lil? Lucy. Sophie is one of the hardest working DJs in London and hosts her own weekly show on Unknown FM, whilst Lil? Lucy who?s a regular rocker for Bugged Out, hosts her own Robot Love parties around town. The action is completed by the Audio Jackers ? a new name on the electro-house circuit, but another top tip for big things in 2006.
