First off i have been a huge fan for years, i was lucky to be able to see the brothers and meet them before their toronto show back in 2002 and Tom remarked without even me asking, how much he loved this city. During PTB i was upset but could understand why they would not come here during that tour, but i do not understand their latest decision to do multiple shows in us cities but yet leave out toronto, not everyone can travel to the states nowadays legally. I will still be a huge fan forever but im starting to lose hope that i will ever see them live again.

It's 'disappointed', not 'dissapointed'.

here, I'll try to post a more insightful post...

probably just means that their sales aren't high enough in the toronto area. we get fans dropping by all the time here expressing their disappointment... As for the US, the cities they're going to are actually big in electronic music, it's not just selecting them out of the bag. NY of course is a mixing bowl of all musics from punk to electronic. Chicago is the birth place of much of what is important to electronic. SF I can say is still booming electronic city like NY and so is LA from what I've gathered. Austin, TX or Seattle WA might be the last show since it is a well know for being a music city

While they might like the cities, it is an extremely expensive show to put on and something they need to know they will be close or over the selling out mark, which of course sucks if you're not in the right area, but you can always play a trip of it, if you haven't been to SF or NY they're great

"Chicago is the birth place of much of what is important to electronic."

Correct, it was the birthplace of House and I believe Techno.

That was actually detroit in the case of techno, although wax trax records out of chicago had a lot to do with disseminating early techno.

Well, I am in Toronto. Last time they played here was in 2002 for their CWU tour. But they didn't really play in Toronto. They played in Mississauga (a town right beside it) in the smallest venue. It's called the Hersheys center. Max capacity of like 8000. Sometimes, you got to stretch out like I am with the Chicago show (which I still don't know if I could go to). Or just wait and hope for the best.

well, just to throw this out there, the Chicago show is going to be fairly small. The Riviera can only fit about 2300 people, give or take... don't know where I am really going with that statement. but just to get it out there.

As far as why the chem's aren't going to Toronto (or Mississauga)... its canada... who really wants to go to canada?! [just kidding]

Is 8000 considered a small venue in North America? Blimey thats big by UK standards. Outside of festivals I've only ever seen the Chems in 2000ish seat arenas like the Carling Academy in Glasgow.
